Thank you very much @-Kiki-!!!! I think the AOW is confusing because you have that but also different pensions. We got that in society class (maatschappijleer ik weet niet hoe ik het anders in Engels moet vertalen π ) but it is very complicated because some comes from the state and other your work? And you need savings from yourselves so i was like π΅βπ«π΅βπ«
And thank you very much for all your other views!! I think you know it very well because you are same age almost like @Sabri_KC!!! I can only say for my classmates but a lot dont even care at all!!! π
Most recommend to put like 10-20% of your monthly income into savings. Whether it's for your new washing machine or retirement, savings are necessary.
I believe your workgiver holds some income every month and gives it to "pensioenfondsen". When you reached the age of retirement you get money every month. But some people don't even get to the age of retirement before they die or get only a bit of AOW if they die soon.
So just make sure you enjoy living in the now and make plans, because I don't get it when people say "I'm going to travel and do this and that when I'm 67". Ofcourse you'll have more time, but your body is old, so enjoy when you're young. πππΌ
Sorry for answering so late! Something happened and I was busy (I wasn't even at home, and I didn't have my computer).
I think the best age to get a baby would be between 21 and 35, and I have many reasons to believe that, but I don't really know how to put them into words so I just won't say anything.
The best age to be ALLOWED to get your driving license should be 13, because it's around that time that you start high school, parascolaire activities, etc. and it's very annoying to have to pay to take the bus or a taxi when your parents are too busy to take you there. In my opinion, most things shouldn't be restricted by age, but instead by maturity or things like that. I think it would be better that to get a driving license you would need recommendation letters from friends and family to be able to take the classes. Like that some adults who shouldn't be allowed at the wheel of a car wouldn't be there just because they're old enough, and it would make younger people less dependant on others.
For voting, I also think it depends on maturity and plenty of other factors unrelated to your age. 16 years old sounds good, people should be able to think by themselves by then.
Buying alcohol and cigarettes shouldn't depend on age either, you should need a permit or something to be allowed to sell or buy those.
For working, it's a bit complicated. I think the age limit for easy work like washing the dishes in a restaurant or cleaning the rooms in hotels should be very low, or not have one at all, as long as you can do the job correctly and you actually want to do it. For jobs with average difficulty, like waiter, I think 15 would be a good age. And difficult jobs that need a diploma should be available to anyone as long as they have that diploma. It's very stupid that if you skip a grade you still have to wait before you can do the job you've studied for.
Retiring should be allowed at around 60-65 for less physically demanding jobs, and at 45-50 for more physically demanding jobs.

I think you're right about the maturity part for driving. I don't think recommendations from friends or family would be a good idea tho, because I feel like friends would recommend each other regardless of their level of maturity. More like a; I'll recommend you if you'll recommend me mindset.
The age restriction is meant for protecting children. I think if there's no age restriction at all, children will be underpaid or taken advantage of in different ways. In the Netherlands we do have different age restrictions. I believe at like 15 you're allowed to be for example a shelf stacker till 8 pm and when you're 16 or older you can work till 10 pm.
The distinguish between physically demanding and physically non demanding jobs would be an idea to consider putting to use.
Hello everybody! πββοΈ
This is a new forum about age!! And i have three questions to start it, but everybody can also post questions of course!!
What is the best age:βΊοΈ To get a baby? πΆ
βΊοΈ To be allowed to get your driving licence for a car? π
βΊοΈ To vote? π
Now of course I understand that some things may be different for everybody! For example if you want a baby you maybe first want a job for a couple of years. Or some want a baby earlier or not at all!! So for those questions: what is the best age FOR YOU?And for some questions (for example the voting) you can say in general what you think is best!! π
Wow... there are already so many answers there...
1 - same like @Etienne btw. 25-35
2 - I would do a gradation - like: 18-21yrs till 100PS/74kW power
When you're young, usually you don't see the dangers and haven't the experience like you are a bit older. Mobility is very important when you are young. So it would also be a possibility to be able to ride a bike with little horsepower at the age of 15, for example.
3 - I think 18 is a good age to be allowed to vote. For smaller elections - such as local council elections - you could consider voting from the age of 16.
