In Sinhalese, we call grandmothers by various names - Aachchi (the most popular one), Aththamma, Kiri Amma and so forth. I call my maternal grandmother, who left all of us when I was only five 😭 as Aachchi. I call my paternal grandmother as Aththamma, because that's how I was told to call her from my childhood. We call grandfathers by these names - Seeya, Muththa and Kiri Aththa. I call both of my grandpas by 'Seeya'.

Sheeps. Parrents.
