What are the brand names used as generic terms in your country ?
Example : Jeep for 4X4 compact sport utility vehicle , Ping pong for table tennis
We use Kerosene, Zipper, Fiberglass, Sellotape, Escalator ....

We have "adidas" for every sport shoes.

„Aspirin“ for every headache pill

Jello for gelatin. Band-Aid for bandage? Ducktape for duct tape.

'Velleda' for board markers,
'Blanco' or 'Tippex' for white correctors,
'Frigidaire' or 'Frigo' for fridges,
'Sopalin' for paper towels,

and some more I guess... 😂

Yes I think so. Someone may say she wants to Xerox it. But It's something I'm not very familiar with myself.

Ricard --- pastis (a kind of alcohol/anis flavoured spirit)
Scotch --- tape
Chatterton --- a stronger tape
Bic --- a pen, typically,the one at school
Doliprane or Efferalgan --- Paracetamol

Also used in France. Blanco is more for the liquid one, whereas tipp-ex is, well, for the tipp-ex.

Scotch tape here too. Q-Tips for cotton swabs.
If everyone used Aspirin for every pain pill we'd be taking the wrong drugs!
