The stupa
at the Europe Centre is a Stupa of Enlightenment. It symbolises the moment when
the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni, fully realised the nature of his mind.
The
location of the Stupa was determined according to traditional rules. It lies
roughly in the centre of Lake Alpsee, surrounded by woodland and accessible to
the public via footpaths above the Hochreute estate.

So on Monday I made a spontaneous trip to the Oberallgäu.
My original motivation was to visit the Alpsee once again and also to pinch a few grams of sand from it. As is so often the case in life, however, that was ‘merely’ the pretext. What really moved me was the call of destiny. The year is now in its harvest phase and, as I have often emphasised:
"It is now time to tackle the root causes and regard the symptoms as pointing the way. True healing does NOT come about through a healer or a remedy. It is ALWAYS about remedying the lack of awareness … awakening awareness of the state of deficiency.... "
