Among the indigenous tribe of Tidong in Malaysia, newly-weds undergo a test of endurance where they are not allowed to use the bathroom for 3 days and nights. This is believed to ensure a long, fruitful and happy marriage. The ritual ends with a special celebratory bath.
Personally, I can't imagine how this is even possible, but I respect all customs and cultures. ☺️
In Turkey. It is tradition when wedding vows are made, for the bride and groom to step on each other's feet. Who ever is first, has the say in the household.
First of all really nice topic @luciemossaz In Romania, the bride is kidnapped by the guests. They take her to an unknown location and demand ‘ransom’ from the groom. A typical request? A few bottles of wine (or something stronger...). Even better is to have the groom sing a song for all the guests. The question is whether that will get him his bride back…
