Hellooo everybody! 😊 Today i had a second time that i had to meet a food and nutrition expert and i wanted to write about it because maybe others also have problems about their weight. And i hope that maybe it helps so they do the right thing and also meet with a doctor or expert because it can really help them.

The first time i spoke with her was some time ago and it was because my mentor told me to make an appointment with my doctor. Because she thought i have maybe anorexia (btw i do NOTTT have that) or eating problems. And it was maybe one of the scariest things because you KNOWWW that maybe they judge you or just say what u do wrong only and u DONT want to hear that beacuse you have already difficulties to deal with it. But now im happy that i did it even if it is still a problem for me.

One of the things is that u can read a LOTTT about everything online but often everybody has a different opinion and u still dont know what u should do or if anybody understands u. Because normally people think it is not a big deal and u should just eat more and that u exaggerate. But they dont know what is in your head and also how u feel in your body AT ALL.

Now what i wanted to say is if u also have problems that u are underweight or u have low BMI then u should not only read online because u only get crazy. And it IS scary to meet a doctor or a food expert but it has helped me a lot. Im still underweight and i know but she explained also about not only nutritions in some foods but also why u MUST also have body fat. And it is not only that u should eat enough carbs to have energy but also for example that if u dont have enough body fat then your hormones are slower for developing than others and also for your muscles and organs how important it is. And of course they can give tips about your diet and maybe if u want to change things how to do that.

I already wrote too much and im really sorry for it. 🙏🙏 I hope that this forum does not get hate comments because for me it is a very important topic and also difficult. But if maybe only one person sees it and has the same problems and goes to a doctor then for me that it is what i hope. 🌈⭐❤️

No never hate comments dear friend. This is very important topic and so great u put it on here!😁😊🙂

Thank u very much drakkiee @Dracula and that is super kind!! 🙏🙏 But i hope that if people have weight problems that maybe they get help because if u only have to do that alone it is very difficult. I think also if u are overweight it is i think the same because you feel like EVERYBODY has opinions about you and you can feel REALLYY insecure and uncertain because of it.

I knew the whole vacation when we were still in China with my family that i would have this meeting and it gave a LOTTT of stress so i did not tell anybody or it only gives problems. But now i had the meeting and i am VERY relieved and i thought maybe if others have that too then i think they should STILL meet with a doctor or expert and not wait with it.

🙂 meeting and talking does help. Never wait too long. Super forum. Good luck yue my dear friend🫠🥰

You have said everything here: go to doctor(s). Don't consult with 'dr. Google', as you already know on internet you can write whatever you want and it can easily surpass all filters and fact checkings. Doctors are well trained, especially where both of us live (in Croatia it's 6 years of medicine college and a few more years for specialisation and subspecialisation - probably it's identical in Netherlands and all other EU countries). I think you shouldn't listen at all to conspiracy theorists who are against science and conventional medicine, their number has grown rapidly since covid. If they pose as experts in everything that usually means they are experts in nothing. So you have the choice to trust them or to trust doctors who spend almost a decade in higher education preparing for their profession. You can find those 'overall experts' among all groups of people: nihilists, hippies, within all religion groups,... You seem to be normal and smart person, I am sure you understand that doctors are here to heal us. They can make mistake, that's for sure, but odds to get false info from them is insignifficant compared to info you could get from 'overall experts'. I'm not a doctor, but as far as I know every body is different and BMI is more like a good and very often correct orientation point than it is the ultimate decider. You as Asian teenage girl will probably have lower BMI from adult male residents of Netherlands. Even among same race and nationalities ideal weight can vary - compared to other Dalmatians I have very low weight, but I'm healtier than most of them probably. I also think it's crucial to eat healthy through whole life, and especially during childhood and your age when you exponentially develop compared to other stages of the lifetime; I remember when I was a teenager, I could eat unlimited amount of food and I was always hungry despite I looked like I have just escaped from Auschwitz.

Traditionally the hardest part would probably be to explain to your grandparents and parents that you have to change your diet - if you survive that, then you can do anything 😆. I still have to repeat to my family after meals that I have eaten enough, that I'm not hungry anymore and that I can't eat every half an hour🤷‍♂️

From my understanding, you are feeling a little bit better with it, compared to last time you talked about that topic? If so, I'm glad about that and about you being happy with what you did. Being underweight/hahving a low BMI isn't everything by itself; your ethnicity, muscle mass etc. are as many factors that can bias some indicators.

On nutrition experts, I would be cautious and look for their background or always prioritize doctor's advice, because not all of them seem to provide the same quality of service since they are not doctors themselves... but it seems you have found someone you trust and that it's also paired with your doctor, so that sounds good. If you learn a lot on metabolism in a simple way and why some type of food are important; it's a nice thing too.

Like I said in the past, I'm sure you will be ok overall. East Asians tends to be a little bit thinner than Europeans, but you seem to eat when you are hungry and you have physical activity + you take care of yourself too. You are doing amazingly well.

Ps : Of course, never take the internet too seriously. It's a basic rule. It can be useful, but it's also full of non sense, hence unreliable for medical advices 🙂

Thank u very much @Dracula and @Korisnik and @Lianshen!!! I was not very sure this time if i must post it because i dont want to bother everybody but i think maybe also other people have lot of problems with it or that they are also uncertain. And because it helped me a LOTTT and yesterday i really felt a lot better i hope that maybe others also are not afraid anymore to also take that step. Because that is really important i think. 🙏🙏

I think too what @Korisnik wrote everything. And is also important and yesterday she told that also to me is that EVEN if something people write on internet is right then still you must be super careful. Because a doctor and the food expert look at YOUUU and what you need can be different than what another person needs. Like for example in my case i have too low body fat and that is a problem. But maybe for another person it may be that they really have anorexia or have other nutritiens that they dont get enough. So the diet that she helps think of must be for YOU and what YOU need. So even everything what she told me is maybe the wrong advice for other people. But things like she explained about hormones that they are slower if u dont have enough body fat or WHEN u must eat carbs and not only IF you eat it that is important for everybody. But still i think a doctor and expert are the most important to tell you and that step is scary because of the judgments but they dont do that.

And @Lianshen I can remember what you said last time and that was really helpful and also when I chatted with others before like @Chantal- and also @Colin_Der_Backfisch that helped me a lot and I am very thankful for everything. But yesterday and also before i was stressed because i didnt reach yet what we talked about last time as the goal for weight and the diets. But she said that it is ok and normal because you have to change how you think about some things and you must not change yourself but only take small steps what is better and more healthy. So when she gives tips she looks at how our diets are and she makes the changes in our diets and not says for example change everything. And she also says if you make steps it is good and not that you have to EXACTLY be at weight we talked or other things.

Sorry i cant write more now because i have to bike but i wanted to thank everybody very much again for writing in a very nice way and that you also give tips instead of judging it. 🥰⭐🥰

😊🥰 its very brave what u did here my dear friend. Talking, chatting, asking, and helping others too. This way u open a channel for others who might have similar experiences🙂

Hey @Yue_, I think many people really needed to read something like this, especially because being underweight or struggling with food and body issues is often not taken seriously enough.

What you wrote about people saying “just eat more” is so true. Most people only see the outside, but they don’t understand the mental side of it or how exhausting it can feel physically and emotionally.

It also takes a lot of courage to meet a doctor or nutrition expert when you’re scared of being judged, so I’m genuinely happy that you did it and that it helped you understand your body better instead of only reading confusing things online.

And please don’t apologize for writing “too much.” Posts like this can really help someone feel less alone and maybe even encourage them to ask for help too. 🌈⭐

Wishing you health, strength, and happiness on your journey. ❤️

P.S. I have picked emoticons from your post.. 😃

Doctors won't judge you, they have seen a lot of extreme cases and they are here to help, not to judge. They also mustn't share your data with anybody else xcept with your parents if you are a minor and with other doctors when needed. If they share with anybody else, they can be sued and lose their license, so you don't have to worry about that

And @Lianshen I can remember what you said last time and that was really helpful and also when I chatted with others before like @Chantal- and also @Colin_Der_Backfisch that helped me a lot and I am very thankful for everything. I know it's easier said than done, but don't worry too much about not reaching your goals immediately. Like it was suggested to yo already, just go step by step, little by little and, ultimately, you will succeed in what you want to do. Surprisingly, this is often more stable and reliable than doing everything fast. Like I said, you are doing very well; not because you reach your goal fast, but because you are consistent in your effort and interested in what you do.

I just have a question, how do you know that your body fat is too low? Did you go through specific tests?

Anyway, I think you can be proud of yourself 🙂

Thank u very much everybody for super kind replies!!!! I wanted to write more back but i have sports soon and need to eat first and bike and get ready!!!

But what i wanted to say is that i hope what @Dracula and Kiraaa @shirazikira write that it can happen because others who maybe read it can make the step. That is very important because i KNOWWW that mostly you feel really alone and most is in your head about people judging and sometimes it does happen but @Korisnik is right that doctors only try to help u even if u are super sceptical that maybe they think stuff about u anyway. But i think what @Korisnik and @shirazikira wrote is right.

And i wanted to say @Lianshen that a lot what u wrote the last time was really nice because you are right about the small steps and she also said that. And she also told me that i was not the only Asian client and that she has others too with some problems but also from other background.

And about the tests it was different the fist time and now. For both times i had to write for one week a food booklet. So they send it to you and you must make circles of how much you eat and drink of the things they put in there like how many times u have rice or tea or water or things like that. And also every time it starts that the measures how tall u are and you have to be on a scale and that part is the most uncomfortable that you feel unsure for lot of reasons. But it is a scale and it has lot of digital things that they scan and you have to hold like a bar that feels like it is metal and you have to hold that with both hands. And the scale also counts the body fat. And the first time i also had other things like a blood test but it was like a clicker and they have one drop of blood but it was not this time. And after the things u have to do we talk about the food diary and you have to tell other things like sports and how u sleep and how u feel. But she asks a LOTTTT of questions also like if u sometimes are dizzy but even if u feel depressed or stressed or if ur mood changes super fast. And also about diets and how we cook and who and what i think about that and also what we eat or with friends and what your thoughts are.
