When Night Falls
Part III

Of course, I do not live in my past, but I no longer drive the generator for the future either. I dwell in the 'Here & Now'.
Something that took me decades to develop. Born with foresight, I know the fear of the present like no one else. Always
on the run is the simple and clear explanation. Well, short-sighted people are afraid of the future, and even though they
are vastly outnumbered, they are not really any better off. What do we create ... acting out of fear?
The universe impresses me in many ways. Looking up at the night sky, lingering on a high mountain peak as the sun
begins to pour out its light. Standing at a waterfall that cascades down from a height of 1,000 metres, or contemplating
a 1,000-year-old church that was built over several generations ... the universe and human life are an exhilarating journey!
We live in uncertain times. Appearances are deceptive and our psyche is under constant attack. We strive for peace, yet
we find none. The changes taking place at the level of consciousness are breathtaking, and whilst the attempt to slow
things down a little is understandable, it will not succeed. It is questionable, in any case, whether we should not learn
to build peace within ourselves, rather than seeking to create it through a 'perfect partner', stable career prospects, or
a house and the mandatory swimming pool in the garden.

We are experiencing the changes … even if we still deny them far too often. There are people who, regardless of all
experience and reservations, surrender to the delusion of their conception of life. Hubris, ... cold, aloof and without
respect for biological life. A digital world that believes ones and zeros are the foundation of our future? The greatest
challenge of our time, however, does not lie in having to limit our possibilities a little more. Rather, it arises from the
fact that we do not make use of them at all....
For me, the present moment is quite clearly like a walk through the night along empty streets. I don’t go there to visit
nightclubs. Nor do I expect to be able to buy my bread for the day at a bakery … although in Sant Martin I was once
handed a delicious croissant through the window without having to pay for it.
I learnt how to deal with the future that lies ahead of me mostly in daily meditaion and in the Alpine mountains.
Anyone who wanders around these regions carelessly and thoughtlessly does not fall victim to a dangerous region.
They simply fall victim to their own foolishness. As I have visited this world very often on my own, I was able, or better
'had', to, learn from my mistakes very quickly and could not to rely on anyone else. In the analogy of this picture
the future is not more dangerous than climbing a high mountain. I simple say: We all have to prepare for it.
Thank You
