i'm studying for my exams rn 😭 drop all your tips to stay efficient and focused without getting discouraged 😭 pleasseeeeeee

Memory-based subjects

If the topic is mainly memory/theory-based, I would rewrite my notes properly by hand because the memorization is more effective that way. While rewriting, I would pay particular attention to understanding the course, filling gaps and reorganize it so that I can read everything smoothly from the beginning to the end.
This step generally took me ~25-30 hours for 50 pages or so of content (I missed courses so might be faster for someone who doesn't). It's very time consuming, so it's better to start early...

Once I have finished with a subject, I would read it like a novel once (carefully, of course) before rereading it two or three times more. During a reread, I would try to remember/reconstruct the content from memory before checking up the notes so that it's more like a test/game than a passive read. Sometimes, I would also read a title of a page/chapter and ask myself "what is this? how does that work?" and answer it before checking the details.

If I still struggled with a point, or just forgot, I would reread the page reviewing it, or just rewrite it. Usually, once you get the fundamentals, a rereading session is much faster and takes maybe 30 minutes.

Problem-solving subjects

If the topic is problem-solving, I would redo exercises I had until I understood them. Then I would try to do previous exams before looking at the right answers. I would check mistakes and deal different whether attention based or comprehension based.

For attention-based mistakes, I would be more careful on what I missed like a dummy.

For comprehension based mistakes, I would look for the solution carefully until I underdand the reasoning behind it. Later, I would redo the exercise + similar ones until I'm good.

Once I feel I'm comfortable with that, I would do other previous years' exams and be satisfied if I get a good score and get a good amount of extra time (compared to exam condition) because it's easier to work at home.

I'm not so social, but a very effective methods is to try to explain topics to your friends or family. Doing so pushes you to synthesize, rewrite, make clear and test your own understanding of a subject while making it accessible to others.

In my opinion, those methods are based on understanding, active processes, repetition reinforcement as well as analyzing and fixing potential issues and it worked fine for me, despite my issues to follow all classes.

I know you asked for tips to stay efficeint and focused, so that might be slightly off, but being active personally helps me more with that kind of things. Good luck with your exams 🙂

Lianshen muokkasi tätä .

If you get distract while studying, just scribble randomly, like continuous circles on a sticky note or a copy. Like a paper with your pen. It helps. I've tried it myself for all types of subjects!!!

Best of luck, girl!!!! 💐💞✨

@Lianshen thanks for replying, i really appreciate it. What you said is actually gonna help me a lot, and i'm gonna start using your method tonight. i'll try explaining the topics out loud and turning it into a mini "test" to check what i really understand. thanks you 😄

The sticky notes is a good idea but in that case i think it is smart to have COLOUR notes. And you can choose for example on a mirror or on ONE place like a wall where you walk along and see it several times during the day. That way you remember it EVERY time that you walk by it.

And what helps me a lot is saying stuff loud. We had this week test week and i prepare often by saying the most difficult part loud bc if you can say it loud it is not super chaotic in your head. Bc you have to say it in way that is logical and complete. And if you DONT say it out loud than it is much more chaotic in your head and that is not the same to practice.

I hope that you do really well and wish you a LOTTTTTTTTTT of luck!!!! 🍀🍀🍀🏆🥇🎓⭐🌸🥰😊
