I need your help guys, what can I take for a cold? I think i caught a flu after these cold days.
Do you have any natural remedies or “granny tricks” to pass a cold?
hola Martiiii!!! 🙋♀️🤗🤗 my mom has a chicken soup that helps!! i also shared it with @viochka, @-Kiki-, @Sarahsalah27 and @Melifekyybor before so i just need to copy it!! 😛 i hope that it works for you too. 🙂 it helps to get rid of bacteria and it has vitamins and energy (and of course also fluids bc it is soup)
Chicken soup recipe if you have a cold or flu
- Make a bouillon from chicken, ginger and if you want thym. It is best to make it yourself but it is also ok if it is from a supermarket.
- You can add celery for taste but it may be too much if you have cramps in your belly. The same is for onion BUTTTT onion and also garlic are good to stop infections and bacteria. So if you can handle that you must add it in the bouillon soup.
- You can add chicken parts from making the bouillon but make sure that you make it soft and smaller pieces because if you are feeling sick it is a LOTTTT easier to swallow. If you can eat it you should do it because it gives you also energy again. Only eating bouillon is maybe not enough.
- If you are not feeling super nausea you can add noodles too. We prefer to have noodles a little bit softer than normal because it is easier to swallow if you for example have a soar throat.
- You can add peper and salt (and if you want other herbs) but be super careful it may be too much the taste that you feel sick from it. So it should not taste too much with herbs and peper and salt, but just a little bit.
- If you want more vegetables it is nice to also put in with the celery for example carrots and make both soft not too crunchy. It will give you vitamins. And carrots are not SUPER strong in taste but celery is (like the onions and garlic).
Hello! I'm so sorry! I have some tips, absolutely safe, that will help you recover faster! ✨🪴
1) drink as much liquid as possible! Any, the main thing is to be warm 🍵
2) stay warm, but don't overheat. 🧣
3) Sleep a lot 💤
4) Sometimes ventilate the room ✨
5) if you have a device that shines with ultra-red light, gray it: throat, chest, nose 🌈🥺
I know some tips are pretty banal, but they really help! But at the same time, you won't hurt yourself in any way, even if you try very hard 😄
Get well ❤️🩹
Thank you all, I’ll try them ASAP!! 🩷🩷🫂
I think @Yue_ and @Kotyaka2023 basically said all the good things already, so I'll just say I agree with them.
Hot tea with honey ?
Several. But first I have a question, what other medications do you take? I don't actually care and I do not wish to be nosy. But the thing is.... Natural medicines work for the same reason drugs works. Chemicals. Those chemicals can interact with each other as well as with other health conditions you may have. Before I make recommendations, for safety reasons I would need to know what you are already taking and what other health conditions you have. The goal is to help you without causing you any damage.

So, I believe in safety first. My advice is, BEFORE you add anything new as far as treatments go for your health, you should ALWAYS double check them with your doctor.
Ginger is known to be good for colds. It is also a fabulous anti inflamatory. Which might actually help with hashimoto. It may be too, that depending on the chemicals you are taking in that it could cause an over dose of them. Which is why, it is always important to first double check with your doctor and make sure they can find no interactions that I might have missed. I know herbs well. I am NOT a medical doctor and I have only so much knowledge of their drugs and how they work. Sometimes, it is hard to know or it may not be noted in my information that something interacts because no studies have been done. Your doctor is going to be a better chemist than I am.
Basil is another I like for colds, but this one is really really important to discuss with the doctor because there is some studies indicating it can cause interactions with some thyroid related medications. Or cause over dose.
Echinacea, is good unless you have allergies to ragweed or something.... Then stay away from it. But again, this is another for which I can think of no interaction, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. So talk to the doctor first, though echenacea, is generally regarded as safe. But then.... So is Basil.... And for you it might not be.
Elderberry can shorted flu like symptoms and colds. But If you are taking a drug for it again, check with the doctor first.
Eastern white pine, I love this stuff have it growing right outside at the edge of my woods. It works as a decongestant and it contains 13 times the vitamin C of a lemon. But again, you need to check with the doctor. I know of nothing that can interact, but your doctor knows his drugs better than I do.
Traditional Medicinals, makes some nice teas for colds. Gypsy Cold Care or something. Again though this is herbally medicated so first order of business is to double check with your doctor.
For those with other issues, if these sound interesting to you and you want to try them. It is super super super super important to talk to your doctor first. ALWAYS talk to the doctor! Nature is one of those things that can offer you health. Deep water is also natural and you can drown in it. Poisonous snakes are natural. Natural and safe do not necessarily mean the same thing. And what may be safe from nature for one person may not be for another. Tornadoes that kill people are also natural. So are hurricanes. My point? Don't mess with green stuff you don't fully understand without discussing it with someone who understands chemistry first. ie your doctor. Stay safe.
