Art for me is more about emotions than about rules or genres. I can be equally fascinated by old paintings and modern illustrations. Sometimes I find interesting things where you don't expect them. For example, in WiliArt Store I have come across very atmospheric works that made me think several times. This is probably the main value of art - it can touch you completely unexpectedly

Can i ask these questions:

➡️ What are your three favourite museums?

➡️ What kind of art do you like the most?

➡️ Could you be an artist yourself?

1) I actually don't like museums.

2) I guess art can be found everywhere, in everything that expresses feelings. So my favorites would be:

Music, pictures (photographs), poems

3) I think everyone can be, because it's something that can be seen relatively. So right now, I'd consider myself an artist as well, because I write Screenplays, I act and I produce music. So I might not be a classical artist, but since I think art can be found everywhere, I'd be an artist. Just like most people.

@Yue_ Thank you so much for your sweet reply 🙏✨ I’m really glad that what I wrote made sense to you. I also agree — sometimes it’s not easy to understand a painting, but when people share their own views, it becomes so much more interesting!

One painting that always touches me deeply is The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh 🌌. It feels like the sky is alive with emotions every time I look at it.

For this year in school i choose two extra subjects and one is art history and we already have the book with a LOTTTTTT of art (NOTTT only paintings) and many i dont know even. One that i really like is from Gaugin but i did not see it often in real but only like on posters or in a book. But i like that he made paintings in an island like i think it was Fiji or another island. For example this:

I like that he makes everything not so dark like the paintings above from Picasso but the colours are bright BUTTTTT still soft i think. And i like for example this more than the pictures when they are almost naked bc that is not necessary i think. And this is nicer bc you see also what they really wear and i dont think that most people ever go so far like Fiji but you can still see abt it. So it is like what he paints and you feel like you know it a bit more.

I know that it is not what expert persons would say abt him and i can maybe write more later when we talk in the class abt him what the teacher says but that is what i think now. 🙂

@Yue_ it's very interesting that you chose art history - it really opens up a whole new perspective on the paintings. Gauguin's work really conveys the special atmosphere of the island. And it's great that you compared it to Fiji: such places always seem distant and a little mysterious. I love how art can transport us there, even if we've never been there 😊.

Thank you very much and i think you are right!!!! And i think like what he paints is almost like you see a different world and you know it is always super far away so you dont ever get more closer than that. And he shows you that. So that is really nice and that is why i like it. And i like the colours a lot too bc if it is really dark it can make it look super depressing and that is not AT ALL what he does. And he like painting styles if it is not TOOO precise but in our book i like the chapter from impressionist paintings. But we didnt get there yet in our classes so if we get that i can tell maybe more about it. But with those paintings it is like blurry a bit but you feel more what the colours say bc you have to get sometimes from that what the painting is about. But i am not sure if that is what they mean with that style.

The painting of Van Gogh is also what i mentioned in the first posts of this forum!!! 😛 😛 There is now in my country a show and you can see paintings of Van Gogh but it is projected ALL AROUND you like 3D. But we didnt go there yet bc i think it is probably expensive and i prefer to see the real paintings. But it is still nice that they do it like that.

Hiii colin!!! I think that you are RIGHT what you said that everything can be art!!!! For example some people say ballet is only just a sport. But i think that is WRONGGG bc it is also about showing a choreography and it is more like moving art. Bc you dont just follow rules like how you move but it is also about that you express it and your emotions. And that is more artistic than only it being a sport. Do you also agree with that Ao @Aooo? But Colin you are right it is also about other things like music or even for example baking a cake in super stylish way and making effort to let it look super nice and special.

Today is Open Monument Day in Belgium and I went to visit the American cemetery of the First World War, which is by the way the only one in Belgium. There I found this painting that I liked and at the same time it also made me cry.

Wowww when i clicked on it i did not expect THAT!!! That is really horror and scary at the same time!!! I dont really feel very comfortable at cemetaries and i think also not that kind of museum but it is important of course.

I also want to share a painting later what we discussed in our class abt art history and i hope maybe others like it too but i will do that a bit later when i have more time!! 🙂
