❄️⛄ Winter poems and stories 🎄🎅 日常生活与习俗

Hello everybody! 🙋‍♀️Maybe it is nice to have a winter poem and stories forum. The winter is a very beautiful time, but also very difficult sometimes. 😬🥶🙄 In this forum you can write anything you want and I would love to read it and I am sure others too. 🥰🤗

This time I wrote a poem for anybody who also likes the winter but also finds it difficult sometimes when it is super cold and dark or you have difficult feelings. ⛄⛄❄️❄️

I want to write a poem

about how I feel lately.

But a poem should rhyme!

I am sorry I am too tired.

Even if it is a rule.

The winter is difficult.

It is dark and cold.

But there is no time to change.

My body is tired.

My mind is tired.

Even my bed is tired.

Sometimes i am too tired to think.

And just fall asleep.

It can be at school

Or at home making yourself small.

If you are small you can keep the warmth.

But you still feel cold.

Do others have that too?

I think no. They are strong.

They eat enough food.

For me that is difficult.

But they can handle things.

Like how you should.

There is no time and you just move on.

There is so much to do!!

Sometimes there is so much to do

That you feel that you don’t know how it is

That you could just look outside only to look.

No mind is a lazy mind.

But a lazy mind can also be a good mind.

But there is no time and just move.

Others do and so should also you!

The winter is cold and days are short.

They are too short.

But with Christmas there are many small lights.

They give you space again and some time.

To forget how many things you have to do.

And there is finally some time also for everybody. And for you too!!

If maybe you feel also that way.

I feel that too and so my message for you: it is ok!!

If you are super cold or tired too: warm winter hugs from Yue ❤️❤️

  • When Warmth Becomes a Lie

I remember how you are like Christmas in the winter

Warm only to those who glorify you,

But cold as relentless snow to those who didn't praise you

You show your dazzling side to the world,

Like colorful lights and borrowed laughter,

Yet behind it all hides a Grinch within,

Stealing joy from those you deem insignificant.

But have you ever wondered,

Does the piece you took even matter to them?

Do they mourn the loss of the gift you stole,

Or has the spirit of Christmas itself grown hollow?

And if their heart remains untouched,

What does that make of your theft?

An act of power, or a desperate call

To fill a void where your warmth should dwell?

(anw this is an ironic poems, i'll also create happy version)

  • The Promise of Warmth

When winter comes, the world grows still,

The chill in the air seeps into the bones,

The earth wraps itself in frosty silence,

And people, too, retreat beneath their blankets,

Lazy to rise from the warmth of their beds.

But the cold never stops me.

Not even the harshest frost could keep me away,

from the chance of seeing you which worth the freeze.

I’d face the biting winds and the frozen ground,

Betting everything, risking it all,

Just for a chance to see the first snow with you and to feel it fall upon us

No matter how cold the world be,

No matter how you hate their cold.

you can always have me

and get the warmth in my arms that no storm can touch.

Come and let your breath fog the air,

We’ll share a glass of wine, or Baileys—

Whatever your heart desires to melt the frost.

But, when you decide to feel my warm

i only have one rule. There is no turning back.

No retreat from the warmth we’ll find in each other,

No going back to the cold, the loneliness.

Once you come close enough to feel my heat,

The world outside will be nothing but distant echoes,

Fading into the shadows as we hold each other.

For in this space, there is only us—

No winter too harsh, no distance too far.

Just the warmth of two souls,

And the promise that, no matter how cold the world may be,

You will always have a place to thaw.

That's honestly beautiful to read. Do you write poems often? 😊🌼

That's honestly beautiful to read. Do you write poems often? 😊🌼

thanks kiki! you are so sweet 😊✨

not that often actually, but I write to pour out all my thoughts either in the form of poems or personal notes 😊

It is very beautiful what you wrote @mayuuram!! Sorry i cant write a lot now because it is our lunch break. 😬😬 If i make a poem it is for me always difficult to find very nice words so it is a lot more simple and not so beautiful. But it is just what i feel. 🙄

I like reading yours and the nice words and sentences i write them down in my notebook. I have one for French and also one for English and i write the things that i like in it and also personal notes like a diary both. 🌸🌸🌻🌻

I get that. I also write a lot when I have a lot of thoughts. It helps getting a clearer mind. 😁🌟

Poetry doesn't necessarily need to rhyme. I think it's more whether there is a nice sound to it when you read it out loud or whether you are able to let people feel what you mean with your poem. If you, for example, describe a lot of details in your poem, somebody could feel like they're in that space as well. 🌼

I think your poem is nice as well @Yue_, because you address a feeling people recognise and that may help people realising they're not the only one with a certain feeling. Connecting through poetry is also important. 🌟

thanks @Yue_ ! your words meant a lot for me 😊✨

I have a trick for you, and for whoever read it about writing poems.

first, you need to imagine scene by scene then capture the scene and explain in words, it's ok use the simplest language that you understand best. and then you search for each synonym or metaphor you wanna use, you deepen it again until you get what you want. like you let yourself drown in your imagination, feel the emotion way deeper, imagine that it really happen to you, etc.

it's ok don't be shy about the imagination thing, let it go and let the heart lead you

but ykno yue, you already write a nice poems for your ages! you only need to keep it up 😊✨

yes, There are so many types, styles and characteristics of poetry, it depends on the writer. but all I can see it's about how the heart and imagination collide

I wrote this second story about Li Ling (my mom's real name is Li Ling 😛 ) and I hope that you like it!! Thank you very much if you want to take the time to read it! 🙏🙏

A real Christmas tree

Walking with her mom outside Li Ling feels like a small horse. All shops close earlier during Christmas and everybody tries to get their shopping bags as full as they can. Her mom too. With all the power and energy that she has Li Ling tries to carry the huge bag which can almost be like a hiding place for her when it is empty.

Why do people eat so much during Christmas? They eat and talk and eat and talk. And when they talk, they talk about eating!!

The dark and cold streets always look so sparkling like a winter Disney movie with all the mini lights! Li Ling's eyes are like a mirror of all the mini lights. She loves them! It is as if the stars come down from the sky at night and have a party in the street! They make everything bright and magic!!

All faces in the street are happy except for an old man who is sitting on the cold street alone. Nobody really sees him, but Li Ling does. The man does not ask for anything from the people who pass him on the street. He just stares to the cold almost frozen bricks in front of him. He stares until he sees two small shoes in front of him pointing at him like an arrow. He looks up and his eyes see a girl who looks curious. There is a silence. Just like when you have a school exam. No noises that you can hear. It is only what you can see. But it is not a paper exam. The old man sees Li Ling. And Li Ling sees the old man.

"It is Christmas" Li Ling finally says. "Yes" the old man says back. "It is time to be with your family and it is cold! So go with your mom! Stay warm!" the old man says to Li Ling. But Li Ling keeps looking at the man who is probably too cold to tremble anymore. "Where is your home mister?" Li Ling asks? "Do you have a Christmas tree?" The man smiles. His talk with Li Ling is the longest time he spoke with anybody that whole day. "I am home already. Look how big it is!!" and with his arms he points at the whole shopping street! "And my Christmas tree is right there!" as he looks to the shop window with a tiny Christmas tree behind it. But that is not a real Christmas tree!! Li Ling thinks. It is just one that comes out of a box.

"Come now Li Ling" her mom says in a rush!! "It is time to go!!" She pulls Li Ling with her. "Merry Christmas mister" Li Ling quicky says to the old man as she is being pulled by her mom. The old man smiles. "Merry Christmas" Li Ling hears the old man say.

That night Li Ling barely eats. How can she eat when that man is outside! He has a cold home!!! And is home is now fully dark!! And he needs a real Christmas tree. Not a Christmas tree from a box that is from the shop. Her parents and her aunt and uncle keep talking during dinner and they speak like everybody in the room is deaf. But Li Ling is silent. She just looks in front of her at the table. Just like the old man looked in front of him at the dark and cold street.

When it is time to sleep, Li Ling quickly gets out of her bed. She opens the window and softly whispers in the cold air: "Have a good night mister"! She lies down on the cold floor. Not in her warm bed! Just like the old man would sleep at night. The window stays open. Now the old man is not alone. They are the same.

Later at night her parents find Li Ling cold like a refrigiator on the floor. Quickly they put her in bed with an extra blanket covering Li Ling and warming her up. Her mom looks worried at Li Ling as her dad quickly closes the window. "Let's keep her inside tomorrow!!" Li Ling's mom says. "She is so cold!!"

Two days later Li Ling's mom and aunt go to the city centre. "Do you want to come with us Li Ling"? her mom asks. With big eyes Li Ling looks at her mom and almost flies to the hall to get her shoes!! And then she remembers...she quickly runs to her bedroom to get her bag. Yes everything is ready!!! She completely forgot that you cant walk with shoes in the house!! But she now thinks of what she has to do. She is prepared for it!!!

When her mom and aunt go shopping for clothes, time stops. One thing to try...three things to try...two hours later.... "Li Ling why dont you go to the library and read a nice comic or book that you like?" her mom says. "We can pick you up there!" Li Ling rushes outside 'the clothing shop but goes back to the home of her new friend. No he is an old friend. No...a new old friend!!! She is now almost at his home!!

Staring in front of him the old man suddenly sees two small shoes again. But this time he recognises them. Does he dream? No. He looks up and he sees Li Ling looking at him. "Come" she says. She offers her small hand to the old man and when he stands up he is like a giraffe. And she is like a mouse. But he is a very kind giraffe. But also a curious and surprised giraffe.

Without talking Li Ling takes the old man to the large square in front of the library. The square is empty. Nobody is sitting on the benches, except for Li Ling and the old man. In the middle of the square is a giant and real Christmas tree. Li Ling looks at the old man. Yes, he is also looking at the tree!! Li Ling does not feel the cold air at all. She also does not feel the cold bench anymore. Because she has something to do. She opens her bag and she gives the old man paper drawings. "Here you go!" Li Ling says as she gives the man a paper drawing of a soup...and of a Turkey...and of a cake with some fruit. "You must eat enough!" she says like her mother always says to her. Li Ling is happy now. The man also has too much to eat now!! Just like everybody else. And he has a Christmas tree. A real Christmas tree this time!

We all have a bag.

We all pack differently.

Some of us are traveling light.

Some of us are secret hoarders who've never parted with a memory in our lives. I think we are all called to figure out how to carry our bag to the best of our ability, how to unpack it, and how to face the mess. I think part of growing up is learning how to sit down the floor with all your things and figuring out what to take with you and what to leave behind.

Only love makes the baggage light…

Il Gatto Inverno

Ai vetri della scuola stamattina l'inverno strofina la sua schiena nuvolosa come un vecchio gatto grigio: con la nebbia fa i giochi di prestigio, le case fa parire e ricomparire;
