Buddhism and a funny fact about how we believe in it is that we think that u should be open. So for example my grandmom said before she had dementia that EVEN the Buddha said that maybe he was wrong about everything so u should always be open and can never say bad things about what other people believe because maybe they are right and u are wrong. 🙂

Lutheran here.

Martti Luther never intended to create a new branch off Christianity he just wanted the catholic church change its ways.

I'm a Catholic because I believe that Jesus never lies.

JW 😆 Yes I had this from marriage

Om krim kali 🙏🙏🙏

I am a practitioner of Shinto, which is an ancient Japanese religion. 🙂

I was born in a catholic family by tradition. Not very much practicing the religious precepts except on big events like Christmas, Easter, weddings and funerals. I followed the rules until I was 12. I know quite a lot about religions.

When you see persons of a high rank in a religious community committing bad things, hurting people or animals or even nation as a whole, misbehaving, you start questioning yourself about the need of having a religion.

Then you realize that religions is something invented by the human mind to find comfort and guidance in a world where man is the only species spreading far, interacting, inventing, creating, the lot!. All civilizations, all over the planet, all eras, have invented a "supreme spirit" to which pay devotions and in whose name people are enslaved, beaten, killed, tortured, etc..

Why should one god entity of one religion be higher, better, more powerful, than another one ? Why should he be the only one ? why is it always a masculine entity ?

It reminds me of the subject I chose in philosophy for the final exam of secondary school (= college for some of you). Quote: "Science without conscience is but the ruin of the soul." (Rabelais, Middle Ages French writer)

So since my late teens, I believe in nothing but good spirit, good manners, empathy, cooperation, respect, watching and protecting this world. DO NOT HARM is my motto. Which does not mean I am stupid enough not to defend myself and relatives if the need arises.

thats really interesting

Despite a rather strict Catholic upbringing, I can say that at my age, I no longer really have a religion. An objective reading of the Bible leads me to believe it is merely an old book filled with absurd legends and barbaric practices. The Catholic Church loudly proclaims peace and love for one's neighbor, all while overlooking the centuries of past persecution and massacres in which the organization took part. More recently, the revelation of violence and abuse perpetrated by certain members of the clergy has only reinforced my rejection of the faith. Nevertheless, I continue to attend certain ceremonies—such as funerals, weddings, or baptisms. I am culturally Catholic and cannot shake off certain practices that mark important moments in family or community life, but it goes no further than that.

Leaving bad reactions to a supossedly open minded forum about religion is bad taste, lets just respect each others religion and live with it

Personally, Im agnostic, give me proof, and Ill believe in it

I agree with what u said and that everybody should respect from everybody the religion and beliefs. 🙏🙏😇😇

Like I've already explained earlier on Life after death forum, you can't read the Bible like an ordinary book. I agree that some Church members did the horrible things, but you don't come in Church because of the priests, you come because of Jesus who has found it. That's the same if you say that all atheists are terrible people if you take some bad atheist as an example. Unfortunately scumbags are present in every religion and in every society. What about Church members who have excellent behaviour? Why they're often forgotten to be mentioned in critiques?

To continue, those clergy members who misbehave, what happen to them after that? Sometimes they get excommunicated and Church always cooperates with the justice system in those cases. Something you also forgot to mention. I think that the procedures for dealing with the same type of behaviour within Orthodox and Protestant Churches are quite similar.

The original question of the forum author is which religion do you follow, not which religion do you hate or which religion you don't follow.

@Ru_phd, instead of having mouth full of so-called tolerance, you should start to use your own head. Satanism literally promotes violence, hate, and intolerance (the thing which you claim to bother you so much and I agree with you on that part, but you still have to learn the difference between tolerance and 'tolerance'). For example check your own and @Froggy56's comments - nobody has reacted badly to them, because both of you engaged in discussion in a respectful way. Personally I find that very nice and I like that very much, even if I disagree with those claims.

@Yue_ I respect every religion except Satanism. As far as I know, every religion except Satanism has at least bare minimum of morality in itself. Satanism is the only religion which has 100% of evilness and 0% of morality. @Viovio_Sheronsky1205 is probably not fully aware of that.

If I may be completely honest. I am sick of abuse of the word 'tolerance'. Nowadays if you politely disagree with anything, they proclaim you as a hater and disrespectful. The paradox of the modern era is that everybody can have different opinions, but all of those opinions mustn't be in contrast with the mainstream opinion. Actually, that's the definition of totalitarism and intolerance.

We aren't enemies to each others. Our only enemies are Satan and his demons. The sooner you get that, the better.

Modificato da Korisnik .

It's funny that both of you focused only on constructive critiques and not at all on positive aspects of my comment - just another proof of your 'tolerance' and 'open mindfulness'. Of course I have researched 'non biblical satanism' before because the term is very shizophrenic. That religion claims they doesn't worship Satan but they worship his behaviour - shizophrenia again. You should also ask yourself why did the founders choose the worst possible creature as an example. If they've openly proclaimed that they worship Satan, then they wouldn't be able to attract many followers. For marketing purpose it's better to do it in a way they've been doing it right now. Furthermore, you claim on your profile that you like emo and goth music (that's not necessarily bad per se!), that's why I think you are drawn to that religion. If we take into account that you are currently in rebellious age (14), I think it's more about anti-establishment and subculture.

Ru-phd, if you want to talk about researching before jumping into discussion, then why you didn't apply that advice to yourself? You mentioned that you need a proof to believe, but if you do your research, you will understand that proofs are only necessarily for the science. If God gives us the explicit proof of His existence, then it wouldn't be faith anymore because then we wouldn't believe, we would know.

Disclaimer for all people with less than 2 brain cells: you are free to believe whatever you want as long as your behaviour doesn't harm others.

To be honest I don't care too much will you delete it or not. If I somehow offend you or somebody else, that wasn't my intention. To conclude, I apologise if my comments have ruined somebody's day, even if I can't find any holes in my logic.

God ✝️ bless you all and I hope you'll enjoy in the last hours of the weekend.

I think if we talk about religion and also about other stuff it gets like super heated VERYYY fast. And it is good that @Korisnik apologised if people felt attacked. And i hope that @Viovio_Sheronsky1205 and @Ru_phd accept the apology and anybody in the argument. 🙂 I think everybody should feel free what they believe and that EVERYBODYY is super welcome on the forum.

My grandmom said always one thing and i never forget it. She explained a LOTTT of things about Buddhism and I already told above that the way we believe it is that we can be totally wrong and also we believe that the Buddha himself said that he could be wrong and others right. So we never think it is right if we would say that others are wrong in that way and u should always be open for what other people believe. Not in way that u must accept as YOUR religion but to respect it really that is what THEY believe. And maybe they may be even right. BUTTT lot of other Buddhist people dont believe that and think we are wrong. So even if u are Buddhist u dont always believe the same thing and u should always ask like ok u have that religion but WHAT does it mean for YOU? And what do YOU believe. Because it can be super different.

Some people who have a religion think people from other religions should be murdered and it happened a LOTTTT and still it happens. Other people from the SAME religion believe it is totally wrong. Other people believe that I and my whole family go to hell or at least are punished because we are not from their religion. I think it would not be fair because i think we do not deserve it but it is because we are Buddhist and not from their religion. And some people from the same religion say it is a mistake and u should look how people do in their life.

So what i try to do every time even if maybe i make also mistakes with it which are stupid, i try to look how the person is. So if somebody is Christian or muslim or hindu or buddhist or satanist or atheist or any what they believe then i look what THEY believe and also if for example it IS violent if they act and speak in that way. If yes then i try more distance and if not then i think they should have all the place they want and they are super welcome.

For @Viovio_Sheronsky1205 i know that she is super kind and a very nice and kind person. And the same is what i know from @Ru_phd and also @Korisnik is super nice to me and funny in forums. So it is really difficult and it is hurting if people make arguments and that are maybe unnecessary and i hope that they ALL feel welcome. I know religion is super difficult subject and i hope maybe now if people just talk then talk not too agressive or super sharp but we can just talk like ok u believe that and i believe something else or maybe the same.

Sorry for writing super long message but i felt that a LOTT when i read the above and i really dont want to miss the persons i said or other persons because of religion. And it is because religion is important but that everybody is welcome too UNLESS they become really violent in REAL life or how they are and be or discriminate or things like that. So i hope all three feel super welcome and stay that way because it is not nice if ANY feels like they cant write anymore. Sorry again for the long message and thank u if anybody maybe agrees or also if not. 🙏🙏😊🥰

And for ALLLL the religions as long as the people from it are peaceful and kind (NOOO matter what is in texts or what other people from that religion do) ❣️❤️🧡💚💙💜🤍❣️
