  • Childhood pleasures

Living in Middle River, Maryland. Our home was one hundred feet from the water. I so enjoyed catching my breakfast, sun fish, nearly every morning. I loved riding my bicycle nearly every day.

I particularly recall falling off to sleep at the sounds of wood crackling in a small cast-iron stove in my bedroom, the cherry-red glow given off by the burning wood, thus eliminating the need for a night light, and the wondrous smells given off by the burning wood.

  • My proudest accomplishments

For the last eight years I have been researching the evils of government, any and ALL governments, and writing of my findings on my website, www.takethebadwiththelousysite.wordpress.com.

From the ages of 17 to 21 I was a volunteer firefighter and ambulance attendant for the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Joppa, Maryland.

  • Making the world a better place

I believe the only way to make the world a better place is to remind myself and others of our obligations to each other, to always strive to respect the rights of others and always try to do whatever I can for another, even when they are people I do not know nor have ever met.

  • Cities and countries I have visited

I lived in Maryland all of my life, with the exception of the last four years. I am now a permanent resident of New Mexico. My wife, Joy, and I were wed for 31 years. She passed in October, 2013. I just could not bear being around everything that reminded me of her.

  • I'm an expert at...

I wouldn't say I am an expert, but I am a talented and proficient writer, though unpublished.

  • Favourite books/authors/films

Ayn Rand was one of my favorite authors: Atlas Shrugged, We The Living, For the New Intellectual, The Objectivist Epistemology, The Fountainhead.

I love the TV series, Heartland and Royal Pains.

I love the movies, Tommy Boy and Maid In Manhattan.

  • I always enjoy talking about...

I don't necessarily enjoy talking about the evils of government, but I believe in the necessity of it, both as a reminder to myself and others of its evils and what can be done to abolish it.

  • Personal skills

I've been told, since elementary school, of my writing skills.

  • I wish people knew more about...

The evils of governments, ALL governments. The evils of the belief that select small groups of people have the "right" to own and rule others.

  • My feeling about the future

Dismal. I see absolutely no hope for America...

  • My interests in other cultures

I've always wanted to visit Italy and France. It just wasn't in the cards...

  • A personal challenge

To outlive my cat, Tiki. We live together in an 18-foot travel trailer. I can't bear the thought of Tiki being trapped in this trailer, not being able to understand why I haven't returned or awakened, only to run out of food and water.

  • 10 years from now

I'm 77 years old. I have congestive heart failure and failed five-bypass cardiac surgery. Not likely I'll see another ten years...

  • It was better before

It was much better when I was a child living in Middle River, Maryland. All was right with the world. There hasn't been too much right since that time in my life...

  • Something uncommon about me

One of the differences between myself and others is that I know I'm crazy!

  • Life regrets

    Ya got about twelve hours?

  • My opinion on human nature

We're much like Lemmings. When a so-called political "leader" takes us where we know we shouldn't go, we just blindly follow along, joyously skipping toward a precipice.

  • I feel concerned about...

That we keep trusting in 500 strangers having access to the kinds of power they have in Washington, D.C. We've been doing this since the ending of the American Revolution, always expecting different or positive results, the hallmark of insanity.

  • Improving the school system

Why trust strangers to teach our children? HOME SCHOOL THEM!
