  Your first thought is what society has conditioned you to think, the second thought defines who you are.

  Suffering gives life meaning. Without suffering, there isn't growth. Without growth, you suffer.

• Something to tell the world!

  Hii, I'm Malaika (or Mikey)! I'm 13. I enjoy writing though i usually write poems. I like to game and I'm interested in making video games and designing sprites. I also watch anime and read manga.

• A personal challenge

  ASTHMA. -2/10 do not recommend having.

• My parents and me

  The biggest difference would definitely be how we view things from the past and now. Their experiences are obviously different from mine, though I wish that they would be more open-minded and less ignorant on topics now. They are way more conservative than I, and that can get in the way if their wants of me and my own.

• I wish people knew more about...

  I wish people would understand how to stigmatize less things. Unfortunately, important topics such as mental illness, HIV, substance use, and many more are. We loop ourselves into this cycle of hate. It may not have started with you, but it could end with you.

• Something uncommon about me

  I love needle felting. Funnily enough, no one really expects that. Needle felting isn't popularly talked about, though I see the things made from it a lot!

• Over or underrated

  Being famous is so overrated. Being bombarded by hate can cause your own mental health to degenerate, the stress of needing to make or be something good so that your fans don't become uninterested in you. Fans will be your biggest critics. Someone will always hate you, especially if you happen to become mainstream media. It's quite sad that a person can be seen so highly of but treated like trash.

• Childhood pleasures

  I loved those Popsicle character pops. Honestly I love ice cream trucks in general (ice cream truck popsicles were definitely overpriced but it's so worth it.) . Popsicles are a nostalgic thing for me since I had so many experiences while having them.

• My opinion on human nature

  Humans are selfish. When in a life or death situation we automatically fight for ourselves. But, we have the ability to learn and change our views from ourselves to the care for others. This is why we see many sacrifices everyday.

• I feel concerned about...

  I'm concerned about other people lol. Mental illness is on the rise in adolescents and it's really scary. "Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds." (WHO), which is really worrying. I want to be able to be there for everyone, unfortunately that's not possible.

• My proudest accomplishments

  I really enjoy writing poems. The pieces I've made have made me really proud. I may even share them.

  I also sing in my school's talent show,, my peers were shocked so that was cool lol

  It's honestly hard to have a favorite of those so I'll put my favorite bands/musicians/etc instead.
