I have a deep love for stories, myths, and magic and I'd like to try something different, so please entertain yourself with the story below.

A cold breeze blows along the wooden path as twilight begins to disappear along the horizon, the blues of an approaching chilling night threaten to grasp you in its clutches. You pick up your pace and, ever so faintly, you see a warm light illuminating from a small home at the edge of a meadow. Without hesitation, you begin to approach it and press the door lightly open.

Inside, the home is quite warm with fireplace casting brilliant oranges onto the antiques and plants scattered about in a room decorated with some of the finest art you've seen. But what catches your eyes is some of the most realistic sculptures imaginable. A voice comes up behind you as he sets down a couple cups of tea and hands you one, but it doesn't startle you.

You hear my voice for the first time, "I hope you can make yourself comfortable for the night. Stay as you like, I have extra blankets and bed prepared." I pause, as I walk over to a nearby statue in the room. "The models that you're currently staring at enjoy the company, too."

"Y-you mean they are real people?" you say, lightly touching the collarbone of one and staring into their blank marble eyes. "Real, and quite aware and able to hear everything," I say, hearing a soft gasp. "In fact, they are quite happy to be young and beautiful forever as flawless art for all eternity."

As you back away a bit, I softly say "...isn't that something you'd wish for, yourself?" Your eyes widen as something about my voice sounds *appealing.* "You wouldn't have any worries at all, no responsibilities, just a priceless work of art left to inspire your sculptor as a muse."

I motion towards a lone empty pedestal resting in the center of my warm home. "All you have to do is step onto there and you can have all that you wish."
