  • Something to tell the world!

I’m a simple girl who loves writing letters, learning about different cultures, attempting to learn different languages, and meeting new people.
I’ve been married to my amazing husband for 10 years and we have a 16 year old tuxedo cat name Angel

While prefer writing old fashioned snail mail letters, I am good with corresponding via email as well.

I live each day to the best I can by letting my own personal moral code, experiences, and the teachings of my parents to help guide me to keep true to myself. This has helped me a lot in the 2 ½ years that I’ve been at my position in my state’s law enforcement.

I am fluent in English and I remember very little from High School Spanish class. I am also a big nerd.

Some of my hobbies include: music, playing games (boardgames and video games), reading, watching movie, cooking and baking, some arts and craft, traveling (when I get a chance),puzzles (traditional and word).

I also have 3 tattoos and a very twisted since of humor

My husband and I have recently started working with a local card shop about possibilities of starting a Pokémon league in our home town

  • My interests in other cultures

I’ve always enjoyed learning about different cultures and their languages. I’m a firm believer in learning all I can before passing judgement. And part of that is trying to learn all I can. I feel that by learning these things, not only will it help me become a better and more understand person, but it can also help me out when speaking and dealing with the people I’m around all the time at work.

  • Favourite books/authors/films

I am a huge Harry Potter fantastic. I own multiple copies of both the movies and books. As well as several other things such as wands, boardgames, etc.

Reading: I enjoy books by the author John Saul and manga.

Movies: I like watching anime, fantasy, horror, and comedies. As side from Harry Potter I also love the movie is Jim Hansen’s The Labyrinth staring the late David Bowe.

  • I always enjoy talking about...

    Anything about Harry potter

    Anime/manga

    Cooking/baking

    Board games/video games

I’ve also started working on cross stitching and using wax seal stamps with my letters.

    Different collections

    Music

    Movies/TV shows/books

  • Cities and countries I have visited

I was born and raised the Black Hills area of South Dakota, but for the last almost 6 years, I’ve been living in the southern part of Colorado with my husband and our cat.

Here inside the U.S. I’ve visited
California, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota, Utah (only the airport), Minnesota, Wisconsin

Outside of the U.S. I’ve been to:
    Austria and Germany.

  • My proudest accomplishments

There are many things I've done over the years but some of the greatest accomplishments/moments are:

Marring my college love (December will be 15 years that we've been together and April of 2020 we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary).

In May of 2021 I finally graduated from college with an associates in business (3rd time trying for this degree since I graduated from high school).

    Being an aunt.

Moving away from my home and family in South Dakota to begin a new adventure with my husband in Colorado.

In March of 2021 will be 3 years that I've worked for the law enforcement agency I currently work at.

  • A personal challenge

There have been many milestones in my life that I’m broad of, but some the bigger ones are:

Moving away from my family and home to a completely different state to try and make a better life for myself and my husband.

Going back to school and trying for the same degree for the third time. (January I’ll start my final semester).

Starting my current job with the state law enforcement, especially when so many people (with the exception of like 3 people) kept telling me things like I can’t do the job, I won’t last a month, I won’t make it out of basic training, etc.

Becoming aunt. ( I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew back up in South Dakota)

  • Childhood pleasures

As a kid I remember at like ages 2,3,4 sneakign out of bed, hiding behind the couch so dad didn’t see me and watch the horror movies he was watching. He used to watch stuff like Tales from the Crept, and the original Child’s Play movies.

I also used to watch a lot of sports with my dad especially baseball, basketball, and boxing.

We also use to go up to North Dakota to visit mom’s family. While up there I’d help grandma in the kitchen, at the Senior Center, and just kick back and watch some Shirley Temple movies.

  • I'm excited about...

Meeting new and amazing people and hopefully building wonderful and lasting friendship through letters.

  • Something uncommon about me

I guess you can say I have a some what unique way of looking at things. When I was younger I wanted to be a journalist. To this day, I still think along the lines of a journalist, I will gather all the facts and information I can about a situation and then after looking and researching all the stuff I've gathered will I make a decision for myself. I am one of those rare people that for some odd reason really enjoys doing paper work. I use my personal experience and the teachings of my parents and grandparents to help me with how I live my life and do my job. If I'm in the wrong about something, while it may take a few (so that all parties can calm down if need be), I have no problem swallowing my pride and apologize. I will own up to my mistakes and will try my hardest to always cover my butt.

  • It is better now

Technology for sure. Today, because of how advanced technology has become, we are finding ways to make work so much easier which allows us more time to spend with our families. Technology has also help with all the medical and scientific discoveries that's been made since my parents were younger.

  • A career without obstacles

It is my dream to one day be a stay at home mom and to own my own bakery.

  • A trick or piece of advice

Throughout my life so far there are few things that I’ve learned that helps me today.

be careful who give your trust and respect to. If someone wants you to trust them or they want your respect, they should have to proof themselves and earn it. Same is true for the flip side. Proof to others your worthy of their trust and respect. And once you have it, do everything you can to keep. Because it is easy to lose that trust and respect, and extremely hard (in some cases impossible) to gain it back even a little.

Be true to yourself. Don’t let others tell you, you have to be, act, and look a certain way. Never compromise your personal morals for a job a person.

Always cover your butt. You never know when the past will come back for a round 2. If you do what your supposed to and cover your butt accordingly, that will help you survive.

Family is everything. But remember family isn’t always blood. Family can also be a pet, or a friend that is so true, that they feel like family to you.

  • Life regrets

Do I wish I did or handled certain things different? Defiantly. Do I regret the choices I did make? No. Life’s too short to have regrets. All the choices I’ve made, both the good and the bad, I have used the experiences and lessons I’ve learned from them to help me grow as a person.

  • I'm an expert at...

I'd say I'm at an expert at sarcasm and being a nerd. If you ask my husband he'd probably include Harry Potter. lol.

  • My opinion on human nature

Human nature is slightly more complicated then good or selfish. We are probably the most unpredictable species ever. How we act, talk, hold ourselves, etc, depends on many different factors and can (and probably will) change from day to day.

  • Over or underrated

"Family doesn't end in blood, It doesn't start their either." This quote was said by the show Supernatural characters, Bobby Singer and Dean Winchester. To me this one quote and thought process that many people seem to underestimate. Just because your blood related doesn't mean crap.

My dad that raised me adopted me when I was 2 years, and has been with my mom since before I was born. My whole life, I was treated better and more like family, from the family I was adopted into then my own blood.

  • Improving the school system

Now I've been out schools for almost 17 years, and sadly I'm not sure how much things have changed since then, but a few things I wish would change would be every school, participating in some kind of program that provides meals to the students.

I also would like to see the teacher take some classes on how to talk to their students. I don't know about now, but back when I was in school, I would rather play the guessing game and risk failing an assignment then ask a teach for help. Every time I asked a teacher for help (regardless of the subject, teacher, grade) they would also look down on me like I was the dumbest person in the world. Not to mention all the blunt obvious favoritism they played.

  • I feel concerned about...

One of my biggest concerns is this new generation of kids. I'm a 90's kid that grew up with old school morals/codes. My parents raised my sister and I the way they were. That includes, saying things like "yes sir, Ma'am, thank you, etc." you know common sense stuff. If we backed talk our parents, not only did we get yelled at and grounded, but my mom had no problem popping our mouths or giving our bottoms a quick swat. We were raised and taught to own up to our actions and don't make stupid excuses.

Now days, many parents are too afraid to discipline their kids, thus allowing them to walk over them. Kids are growing up to think they are owed the world and don't really know the value of hard work.

Dont get me wrong, working in law enforcement for the last 4 years, I have met many adults my age or older that will try ever excuse in the book as to why they ended up where their did. But most of these people also are not afraid to do any kind of work in general.

  • Living abroad for one year

If I could live abroad for one year, I'd probably pick Canada or England. The biggest reasoning for both is that English is main language (yes i'm fully aware english in England is different from American english). Also in Canada, I hear they have free health care, and England is home of the Harry Potter Universe. lol

However, I also wouldn't mind going to Italy.
