    Hi everyone!

    I’m a girl with the most ordinary Russian name, Anastasia 😄 I recently turned 24, but despite my ripe old age and my job as a foreign language teacher, I still feel like a teenager sometimes. Designing super-creative teaching materials is my absolute passion 😂 Right now, for example, I’m working on an interactive presentation in the style of Old Japan, where students have to catch Kitsune, Oni, and Yuki-onna (and describe them to review vocabulary — yes, I’m sly as a fox!). Generally, Japanese art inspires me; I see it just as it is in the poems of Hattori Ransetsu and Masaoka Shiki, and in the prints of Kawase Hasui, even if that sounds a bit cliché)
    I have a very visual mind; I’m literally always immersed in colours, textures, structures, images, and rhythms — which drives me to write and translate poetry, sing, and play the piano from time to time. I’d be absolutely delighted to meet someone who knows and loves literature as much as I do! Paradoxically, for me, math, chess, and astronomy are also connected to poetry: both arts create and describe beauty, just in their own languages.

    'Much wisdom, much grief,' as we say in Russia. I can’t say I possess an extraordinary amount of knowledge, but what I do have makes my sense of humour almost anti-social 😂 Good thing I’m already an introverted potato! But there’s a spoonful of honey in every barrel of tar, right?
    (Yes, I almost became a folklorist… The world lost a treasure, but I can still sing folk songs quite well. Did I mention that all my neighbours had mysteriously disappeared one day?)

    Jokes aside, music, horseback riding, dancing, and figure skating (by the way, I’ve been watching a lot of Japanese and Korean skaters lately) give me a sense of liberation when my energy is high. When it’s low, I usually read books or do my skincare/makeup routine) To be honest, I find it easier to get along with guys (don’t ask me why, I don’t know myself), but I’m sure I’ll find things to talk about with girls too 😂
