  • I'm an expert at...

The Sims 4! At least that's what I like to tell myself...

  • Living abroad for one year

I would love to go to Canada or Japan. But I don't think I am confident enough to do that.

  • My interests in other cultures

I am really interested in Japanese culture, and ancient Greece. But the latter isn't really a modern culture anymore, is it?

  • Cities and countries I have visited

Currently, I travel trough Europe with my family from time to time. My favorite city was Vienna, by far! It was so beautiful... I would love to go back there when I'm old enough to travel there myself. I don't really like very hot weather, so I'd also like to visit Scandinavia or Canada sometime in the future.

  • Favourite books/authors/films

I loved Forrest Gump! I think it is a very good movie. However, most of the movies I like watching aren't really good movies. I just enjoyed watching them. For example, The dictator. Not really a good movie, with a lot of straight up offensive jokes, but that's the point of the whole movie, so I really enjoyed watching it.

I really liked reading the Grisha Trilogy. It was written so quick, that I finished the whole serie in approximatly 4 days... But I also like reading classics, like 451 Fahrenheit, Frankenstein or even the Iliad. The last one took me a pandemic to finish, but it was worth it.

I don't really have a favorite author but I would like to get one!

  • I always enjoy talking about...

I like talking about most things! But be aware that I can get really passionate in a debate 😉.

  • Making the world a better place

That is quite a long list... First, Global warming. Of course, there are a lot of enormous problems on this planet that have to be fixed, but this one I am quite anxious about. It is so threatening, and sometimes it feels like one cannot do enough. And I feel guilty about the fact that I don't even do that much about it.

Secondly, inequality. It takes many forms, and it hurts so many people in so many ways. If it isn't a war fought over oil or a famine, it is something else. It just hurts to see.

But there are so many more than one can fit in a simple answer.

  • I recently learnt...

How to do a little bit of programming in JavaScript (I know it's a little old already). But I really can't do anything big.

  • A trick or piece of advice

My tip for cooking, even though I don't cook a lot: "Fuck it, close enough" is the best measurement tool. Don't worry about the little differences, it'll be fine. However, when baking pastries or bread, be precise.

  • I feel concerned about...

    Global warming...

  • I wish people knew more about...

Well-known problems or political issues are usually very complicated and detailed.

I feel like a lot of people look at a problem or a certain question and think that there is only 1 good answer, and that answer would be very simple.

However, I think that isn't the case with a lot of problems. There's always something you don't know, a certain point of view you haven't considered or something you considered a fact, isn't one at all. There is a reason that those problems or issues are so well-known, it is because there isn't an easy answer.

I wish people would understand that, and would always try to get more educated on a certain subject before making a statement about it.
