Hey there Royal!

I have to be honest with you. NYC and the surrounding areas (South Connecticut, North Jersey, Etc.) have a VERY high cost of living. Housing in the city is extremely expensive, and property taxes are outrageous. I just got back from there with Jing, and we stayed with a friend in Queens (one of the five boroughs). His house belonged to his parents, and he inherited it after they passed away. Rents in Queens are slightly less than rents in Manhattan, and if you wanna buy a brownstone in Manhattan, you need to have a few million to buy.

I live in North Carolina... and while it's not NYC. Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte are pretty cosmopolitan, with an exploding job market and less competition. Just be prepared for very humid summers...

I hope this helps ... If you do want to go to NYC. I highly suggest City College as a place to study...
