Hello everyone. I'm new here. I discovered Penpal Gate while searching for someone to practise language exchange with. Unfortunately, I can't speak English at home, for example, with my wife. We have been living together for many years, and she is too familiar with me, so if I try to speak to her in a foreign language, she laughs at me.
I even tried, during a dull moment, to have a conversation with a mirror, but you know how mirrors behave — sometimes they only show what you wish to see; other times, they mostly reveal what discourages you. They are never balanced.
Also, a few days ago, I dreamt I was about to have a conversation with a lovely native English-speaking woman, but the dream suddenly turned hot, so I didn't get to talk much.
That's why I'm looking for English speakers. I have a rather important request for them, though. They should pretend not to be as frank and spontaneous as my wife and my mirror are.
Clearly, I am joking, but I was indeed looking for a native English speaker. Perhaps it no longer matters, as I have now found a place with many of them.
