I agree with @Pennarossa2024 that we should be happy with penpal gate as it is, as @Etienne already has a lot of work on this site when ever he makes a new update. But there is though something that really annoys me: people are too easy by blocking others. For example @QueenOfRaccoons, @soyayi and @Netraam have blocked me, but no idea why. The only reason I can think of is that they don't want to chat with me because of my age. But then they should just say it, not simply block me. That's unhuman! And I wouldn't be surprised if I am not the only one here having this problem. To avoid any further of this nonsense, I'd appreciate if there'd come blocking restrictions, for example, you get a list of questions in which you can choose what your reason is. As next you have text box in which you have to descripe in minimun 3/4 lines of text what your reason is to block that person. Do you not fill in the form? Then you cannot block that person. Do you fill it in, but with complete nonsense? Same story. You have to be honest, or you can't block that person.
I hope you will agree with this, @Etienne, and anybody else who might read this.
Why should anyone be forced to interact with other people? What would that extra justification change to you? Would an "invalid" reason cancel the block?
There are tons of other members you can start a conversation with. 🤷♂️
Dear Mare, you can't please everyone. I've blocked several people I don't like. Some people blocked me just because I wrote: "Hi, welcome to penpalgate!" I always sent a welcome greeting to new Italian users. 99% of the time, I didn't receive a response. This made me angry. Then I realized it's not worth getting angry. I've received insults and harassment even from those who signed up to ppg with nude photos or in other inappropriate ways. Should I have burst into tears? When they accused me of being a pedophile, should I have grabbed a gun? PPG is an excellent site and teaches us something fundamental: in life, there are important people and people to ignore, even when they hurt us.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I agree with you. We should accept things as they are. May I give you a peace of advice? Don't say "Hello, welcome to penpalgate!" to people. That makes you sound like a robot, and you don't want people to think you're a robot. To be honest, you arenone of the few people here that I can understand... and actually also respect.

I don't text anyone anymore. I just keep up with existing conversations. I don't need to meet new people.
Would be a lot of admit work also to go through all blocks and judge which have cause and which might be done just because someone wanted to block someone just for kicks. Also, number of users might go down if people start to feel their block is not in their hands, but in the hands of some admin or other, whom they might not know and might not trust to be fair. Even with a 100% fair admin, mistakes happen, it's just human. Plus, someone who's already been traumatised by bad people would want that kind of control in their own hands to feel safe.
Personally, I'd think that if I've done nothing wrong and someone blocks me for some childish reason, that's on them. Wouldn't want to talk to them anyways. Lots of other people here and even if there weren't, it's better to be alone than i bad company.
