🎸 Any other rock/metal fans out there? 🤘

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if there are more people here who enjoy rock or metal music. I’m personally a big fan of Rammstein and Ghost — I love the power, the theatricality, the energy. Their music just hits different.

I also grew up with music like Within Temptation — my mom used to play their albums all the time when I was a kid. And thanks to my dad, I know almost every Pearl Jam song by heart. So I guess you could say music has always been a big part of my life, passed on from both sides.

I’m always curious to discover new bands or just talk to people who share this love for heavy sounds, deep lyrics, or emotional chaos wrapped in guitar riffs.

✨ Who are your favorite bands or artists?
🔥 What was your first metal/rock album or concert?
💬 And if you’re into bands like Rammstein, Ghost, Within Temptation or Pearl Jam — I’d love to hear from you!

Hey! I am a HUGE fan of Rammstein, too! I went and saw them live last year in Reggio Emilia and it was, hands down, the best concert I've ever seen in my life!

My mum has the drum sticks of Nightwish 😎

I also like Slipknot, SOAD, Foo fighters, Marilyn Manson, Linkin park (when there was Chester because he sang with his heart while Emily just screams), Anouk, Creed, Audioslave, Toto (saw them live, too and they are ridiculously amazing) and usually other metalheads are shocked that I don't like Metallica that much 😅

My first love was definitely Marilyn Manson 😍

could anyone tell me what kind of music style the intro of Lovejoy is? i have no idea, and i was hoping that this would be the right topic to ask it in.

This year I enjoyed Pantera and Power Trip live @ AFAS in Amsterdam. Absolute nostalgia of my formative years when I used to see numerous metal, hardcore and other hard rock bands live on this part of the globe (Slayer, The Exploited, Agnostic Front, Biohazard, Emperor and countless others at festivals and solo performances).

I also play metal (and other styles such as rock and blues) on guitar. It is a coincidence that you mention Within Temptation. Once I had the stand in of WT as guitar instructor.

One of the relative new gems in metal circles is While she sleeps. The song (both the official music video and the play through) of the track ‘To the flowers’ are must sees. The lead guitarist is a sonic wizard! The official MV comes with a content warning. Only watch when feeling mentally fit and not easily shaken.

I would say indie rock, probably

indie rock??? i don't know exactly what that is, but it doesnt sound like something i expected! Thank you @Chantal- 🙂 P.S did you actually listen to the intro?😃

I used to love Rammstein. I saw them in concert twice (first time in France, second time in the US) and their performance was always worth every penny. I kinda grew out of listening to metal, maybe I just haven't given it a chance in a while.

@Chantal- : definitely agree about new LP, they're kind of cringe

my father listens to nearly all kinds of music, but im not sure if he does listen to metal. Anyway; im gonna unfollow this topic, bc im a folk music fan, not a metal fan. If you want to ask/tell me anything on this topic, your gonna have to tag me, ore i wont reply.

Adding some variety to your sonic palette can’t hurt. This particularly applies when there is a nostalgic element that requires nourishment.

Furthermore, overexposure to the civilized world during daytime requires an antidote. Metal is a great countermeasure to an army of suits or any given office space.

Talking about this genres, then my favorite one is Sabaton. I also listen to The Hu, Radio Tapok, Korpiklaani, and some of the others.

But I'm not so sure if I can call myself a rock or metal fans. After all, I listen to, well, whatever I like. I can go from classical music, to metal, to K-pop, to some game soundtrack, all in just 20 minutes haha.

I wouldn’t call myself a metalhead, but a lot of music I listen too is metal/rock. It kinda fluctuates which artists I listen too at a given moment.

Some bands/artists I listen too:

Sabaton, Babymetal, Electric Callboy, Feuerschwanz, Linkin Park

Favorite - old Metallica, old Sepultura. guess i am an old man, Slayer, bunch of death/doom bands like Dismember, Carcass, Suffocation. I do also listen to alternative like Alice in Chains, NIN, Soundgarden, Audioslave

I think first metal album i got way probably Iron Maiden "Powerslave", that was long time ago. I cannot recall first concert i seen, gotta be some unknown local metal band.

I cannot say i am much fan of modern bands, yet Rammstein sounds good. Metal opera i cannot listen to though.

So you like Nightwish?

So you like Nightwish?

Lets say i could listen to it, i would not put it on by myself.

This is rude 🤣🤣🤣
