You have 9 identical-looking coins.

One of them is counterfeit and is slightly heavier than the others.

You have a balance scale, but you may use it only twice.

How can you always identify the counterfeit coin?

I really had to think abt the answer of @Fanny0607 but i understand it now. So if u have two groups and one is heavier than that has the counterfeit coin!!!! BUTTT if the are the same than the group that is not on that scale has the counterfit coin. So that is round one right???


So with round 2 then u have the right group and u are sure that has the counterfeit coin. So the same way: if u weigh and they are equal than the one NOTTT on the scale is the counterfeit coin. BUTTT if one is heavier then THAT is the one. I think that is right and what @Fanny0607 means??
