Wisdom from the Babyboomers

I want to hear from the babyboomers here, what wisdom do you have for the younger generation?

1. Listen to older people, they have been through a lot more than you, and probably have experienced enough things to give you useful advice. 2. Don’t get into unnecessary debt. Things will feel more valuable to you if you have had to save for them. 3. I know it’s more difficult now, but really think about the career that you want, and then decide how to get there. Don’t blindly follow the sheep into university education and huge debts if you don’t have any ambition or career targets. Most of the western world needs skilled tradesmen , not nuclear physicists , marine biologists , marketers and philosophers . Think practical and positively , there’s AI to consider too. It’s tough to imagine how many jobs will become redundant in the future , but builders , technicians, architects , carpenters and roofers will continue to have work. There are millions of young people with art and history degrees, but very few jobs for them outside teaching.
