So I graduated from high school recently and I'm pretty lost what to pick for college I think civil engineering is a good respectable field with good job opportunities but I would love to hear your opinions and recommendations for other fields you love
We can't know what should you pick. In my opinion you should think about your talents and interests before decision making.

I'm aware of that I'm just interested In fields that other people love for options

I would also say it probably depends on if you want to stay in your country or have ambitions to go elsewhere. Some degrees can be fruitful internationally while others may not.

I ended up getting business degrees. But if I had my way, I would have been an archaeologist. History has always been a passion of mine, but that has unfortunately never been a very lucrative field. Don’t get me wrong, I love being in business management, but it wasn’t exactly something I dreamed about growing up.

Thank you very much for your input I am planning to work abroad yes but I would still love hearing all the cool opinions possible

I must say it has also been a dream of mine since I live in mesopotamia just imagine the amounts of history in my back yard lol but since the job opportunities here aren't the best I would probably be eating clay tablets hahahaha

So if that’s the case, civil engineering might be a bit difficult to bring to another country. Not because the skills don’t transfer, but because that kind of work will require local professional licenses as well as a degree. It’s not impossible, there’s just an extra step to consider. I would research the countries you are interested in beforehand.

Yes I was going to mention Mesopotamia when I saw where you are from. Very good history there. I believe they found a Mesopotamian city very recently in Northern Iraq actually.

Oh that's also a consideration thanks for bringing my attention to it

And oh really?! Wow they keep finding new ones all the time lol... I doubt the people who built these cities had our same worries you know, it's sad to think about but not to late to keep their glory alive and expand our own.
