Interview with @TomiL 02.06.2025
Thank you very much @TomiL that i can interview you!!! That is really kind!! 🙂 I hope that you like the questions. So i made 20 questions and this is the first part of 5 questions. And of course only answer the questions that you want!! 😊😊 Thank you very much! 🙏
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ PART I
1: How long have you been a member of PPG? What do you like the most of the site? And do you maybe have suggestions for @Etienne to make it nicer perhaps?
I have been a member for over 2 years. I am quite shy and have a lot of anxiety issues so getting to know people irl is really hard for me. A platform like PPG feels a lot safer. I do like to get to know a lot of people and I do love chatting. I also love to see all kinds of different cultures, personalities...
2: It says on your profile that you are from Aalter in Belgium. What is your city like and do you think that you will always live there? And if people visit your city what do you think is the nicest to see and do?
I used to like to live here, because it is a very small town and it’s very calm. Everybody knows everybody and I like that. A side effect of that is that there’s a lot of gossip, because that’s how info spreads over here. There are a lot of old people here, young people seem to move away, because there are not a lot of possibilities to grow over here. The town is doing his best now to renovate, modernize and grow and I can’t recognize it anymore. There is not much to see over here, though we do have the biggest forest in the region which I used to go to a lot when I was younger.
3: You told me that you work in the library often. What do you like the most of it? And do you also read a lot? What kind of books do you like the most?
I work at the archive of the library. People come to us to make a family tree. I get overstimulated quite quickly so I like that it’s nice and quiet. We don’t see a lot of people 😛 besides I love to look things up and search things. I love when everything connects real nicely and all of a sudden you have found relatives in the 1800’s. I actually started reading more since I worked there. I love something with a bit of thrill to it, also horror.
4: What kind of food and drinks do you like the most? And can you cook very well too? If people would visit you and you have to cook: what would you make?
I love Italian food, though I can’t cook AT ALL. If people would visit me, we’d probably have take away and if they don’t like that, they can just leave 😛
5: What is the biggest challenge that you ever did? And do you have tips if other people have that challenge too?
The biggest challenge for me probably has to be my health. When I was 8 years old they found out I have a brain condition and I had to have surgery. They didn’t know if I was going to make it. I am 23 now and I still suffer from some consequences. It has also left me with anxiety and depression that are pretty treatment resistant. If I had to give some advice to people it would be that when you feel something is off, to keep looking for a cause. The doctors couldn’t find anything on me at first, my parents were told off a lot of times.
Thank you very much @TomiL and also that you talk super honest about health problems bc that is really difficult i think!!! Or you taught me Belgian: massas difficult. But that is also super strong i think!!!!! 💪💪 Bc i think other people sometimes think it is difficult to talk about it so with that i think you give maybe people the way they also can talk about it now. 🏆🥇🙏🙏
Oww and before i forget it: there are two other super big horror fans on PPG: @Simone724 and @Fleurke but movies and maybe also books!!!!
