What do you think of Italians' gestures while speaking ?
I think it helps to convey your message better and it is very contagious.. when I lived with Italians after a week or so, I started using hand gestures as well hahaha

That's an exact cultural legacy of the Romans. They also used the art of chironomia in everyday communication and in oratory. It should be taken as the chiefest instrument of eloquence. In my opinion, particularly Southern Italians use well performed chironomia. That's absolutely the art of manual rhetoric. John Bulwer's "Chirologia, or The Natural Language of the Hand (1644)" is worth reading to understand the origins of such gesticulations.
