This is specific to our Taiwanese members. Please understand that I am not trying to be insulting or demeaning, but f**k is she driving me menty and she's only been here (at my house in the USA) five days. Mind you, I don't hate her, she seems nice and well meaning, but I'm getting super frus here....
1) She speaks to Jing in Hokkien. This is ok, I guess. But I know Mandarin better and I really wish she would speak in a language I can follow, because I KNOW she is talking about me...
2) She's somewhat critical. She asked what my dad did and I said he is dead, but he was a carpenter. That didn't seem to impress her. I then had to add that my grandparents raised me and that my grandpa was a Civil Engineer, that seemed to suffice.
3) I made steaks and she said I made too much food. TF?
4) I live next to a graveyard... don't me started on how much I've had to hear about that,
5) She keeps interfering with our Pilates exercises. Something about it being a waste of time.
6) she talks down to Jing in a loving but neggy manner and Jing just takes it. This irritates me because then Jing gets takes things out on ME about little things.
7) I had one beer, and she says I drink too much.
8) I was practicing in our room, with the volume down and the door closed and I got scolded for "disturbing the baby."
I have been to Taiwan and the Mainland. Is this typical? I don't remember my ex-gf's parents in Zhongshan being this way.. Is this a Taiwanese test or something?
If I had to describe my life in one word it would "ugh."
Sorry, rant over
