😎🤠 Interview with Korisnik ✝🎹

Interview with @Korisnik 04.08.2026

Thank you very much @Korisnik that i can interview for the forum!!! 😊🙏 I promised for the interview to not make super personal questions but more things what u think abt things and like. 🙂 So i have 20 questions and for each part i ask 5. And if u dont like a question u can just tell me and i can make a new one!!! 😇😋

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ PART I

1: How long have you been a member of PPG and what are the things you like the most and what are things that u think can be maybe made better? What kind of forums do u like about which topics? And do you maybe have tips for @Etienne?

I joined 7 months ago. Things I like the most are relatively normal users compared to other similar sites and an admin who actually reads and thinks about what people say in forums. That's the way how all penpal sites should work instead of relying on automatic moderation filters only. However, I would like to see immediate bans for pedophiles here - some users behave very creepy and probably groom minors. For forums I can't point out any favourites. When I see a topic which might be interesting for me and I think I can say something useful or I want to say something, I make a post. My engagement in forums usually depends on how much I'm online, how much I'm interested at the certain moment and how much I care about the topic.

2: What is the nicest of your country that you are super proud of? And what are things that maybe can be better? Does Croatia change a lot or not really since for example 10 years ago?

My country is very diverse in a lot of aspects. Part of Croatia where I live has an excellent weather and a wonderful nature. Things which suffocate Croatia are tribalism, corruption, nepotism and grey economy. Antun Gustav Matoš, Croatian poet, once said: '2 Croats=3 political parties'. That's quite self-explanatory how divided we can be about anything. On the other hand, when really needed we freeze our disagreements and act as one. There were numerous occasions when somebody needed money for getting life-saving treatment abroad and we always collect enough money in such cases. In past 10 years Croatia has changed. 13 years ago we entered EU, a few years ago we implemented Schengen and replaced kuna with euro. All of that fueled inflation a bit, before that the inflation has been on insignificant levels. Before Covid pandemic we've had a lot of tourists. Sometimes it was so overcrowded and nearly impossible to walk normally in main hubs in some places during the seasonal peak. Now our prices have skyrocketed so we are not as interesting as we used to be for tourists, but we still attract plenty of them. Maybe the best thing in Croatia is safety, even within European standards. Violent crimes rarely happen (avoid nightclubs, strip clubs, and football matches) and if they happen it's usually a continuation of some old disagreement. Our nature is also quite safe (watch out for snakes, don't climb to mountains in flip flops and don't try to row to islands and you will be fine most of the time) and our healthcare system is almost free of a charge.

3: What do you think about schools in Croatia and universities? Do you think they are different than for example in other countries? And what are things that can be better or things that should NOT change?

Based on information I've heard, schools and universities in Croatia are a bit different than those in other Western countries. In my opinion our educational system is a bit outdated and indirectly fuels 4 suffocating things which I mentioned in an answer to your previous question. Our educational system is set in a way which relies more on memorisation than on creative thinking. That's why we sometimes consider Western people, especially Americans, as uneducated because they don't know as much data as we do. Very big problem with students here is cheating. Penalties for cheating look like a joke compared to other Western countries, even at universities. Personally I've never met a person for whom I can say for sure that he or she hasn't cheated at least once during education. If you don't cheat, you get a reputation of an idiot. Like I've already said, all of this helps in normalising tribalism, corruption, nepotism and grey economy and that should be changed as soon as possible.

4: What kind of food dishes do you like the most? And which world kitchen do you like the most if u can choose from all the countries in the world? And can you cook or maybe bake yourself really well? What is the best dish that you can make? 😛

I'm a terrible chef, but my spaghetti are safe to eat 😅. I try to have diverse diet based on local, fresh Mediterranean products. I try to eat healthy but sometimes I like to walk away and eat some unhealthy and tasty food - my favourite dish is pizza and for dessert Italian ice-cream.

5: What kind of music do you like? And can you play music instruments and if not do u want to learn that in the future maybe?

I prefer to listen to rock music. I also like classical, synthwave and some local artists who blend few genres. I usually don't reject any song or artist a priori. We had a subject in the school where we had to play a synthesizer. I was very good at it but I didn't develop that talent further. I plan to correct that mistake in the near future.

Thank you very much for the first part of this interview @Korisnik!! 🙏😊🙏 If anybody wants to ask a question or post a comment you can do that below ⬇️⬇️ or write @Korisnik a message!! 🙂 More interviews of PPG members are on this page: overview of interviews. I will try make the next part before my holiday bc i will go Saturday for two weeks!!! 🙂

Maybe i can learn @Korisnik to cook 🙂

Maybe i can learn @Korisnik to cook 🙂

Then i want to learn too. And @Korisnik: if u like spagetthis then maybe u also like Chinese spagetthis!!! 😛 😛 My mom tried to make one time Italian spagetthi but she kept adding things like Oyster sauce and other seasoning from Oriental supermarket and i think actually tasted super nice!!! BUTTT i think that Italian persons would think it is NOTTT spaggethi anymore at all. But still i think it is very nice!!! 🙂

Btw: I did not expect your answer about the syntesizer at all!!! I had piano lessons ago but i think syntesizer is also really different to play with like LOTTTTSS of effects and other things. Do u also like piano music or to learn playing piano?

I would like to learn it

I would like to learn it

If u have setting on the syntesizer that u can also have sound like ONLY accoustic, then u can do both and u have both the piano and a syntesizer sound. 🙂

And if u dont want to really go on lessons there are a LOTTT of videos on You Tube and u can also learn that way i think.

Thank you. I think the sound is not the only difference.

PART II

6: Is religion in your country important or do more people dont have a religion? And what is for you the most important moment for religion in the whole year?

Croatia doesn't have an official religion. Currently we are influenced the most by Catholicism and woke atheism. Most people claim to be Catholics but in my opinion a lot of them seem to not understand what Catholicism is.

I'm not sure what do you mean under 'the important moment for religion in the whole year'. Can you please clarify what are you asking me here so I can give an answer?

7: If you would not live in Croatia, which other country would think would be the nicest to live in and why? And do you travel a lot to different countries? What kind of countries do you like?

For me it would be some other European Mediterranean country because of identical climate, similar mentality and similar safety levels. I don't have to travel for a beach holiday because I already live on the coast and I have the whole summer to have the beach holiday at home. That's why I haven't travelled too much. I've travelled because of history, culture, religion and leisure so far.

8: Is Korisnik your name or does it mean something special in Croatian? What is a funny word in Croatian that people should learn and everybody in your country will be super impressed if people say that word? In what Croatian dish should everybody try who visits your country?

It's funny when people think that's my real name 😁. That username couldn't be more generic, it means 'a user'. I always enjoy when foreigners try to pronounce tongue-breakers like Krk, Crivac, trg, prst, krv, vrt,... 🤣. There is a local dish called soparnik. It's a cake which has chard and onion as the main ingredients. Although I don't like it, it has a famous reputation and it's expensive.

9: You wrote on the forum about the Croatian holiday. Would you prefer that Croatia is again a province of Yugoslavia or do you prefer how it is now and that you are a separate country? And what do most people think in your country about that?

Without any doubt I prefer the current situation. It has never been better here. Yugoslavia had a lighter form of communism but the life was still hard back then. Along communism there were also ethnical tensions which have been existing a long ago before Yugoslavia was created. I think most of Croatians have as same attitude as me, but I know there are some people who prefer Yugoslavia or Independent State of Croatia.

10: Which languages do you learn in schools in Croatia? And which other languages can you speak very well or a little bit? And which language would you like to learn if u can choose any?? And if u go to another country: what kind of souvenir do you get normally from that country?

From the start of primary school untill the end of high school we learn Croatian and English. Professional English is usually taught in early semesters at universities. You can choose to learn German, Italian, or French if you want to in primary school. In some high schools you have to choose one of these 3 languages as your second foreign language. Some schools have mandatory Latin or Latin and Ancient Greek. As a native Croatian speaker I'm automatically fluent in Serbo-Croatian, Serbian and Montenegrin without learning them. It's impossible to get an objective answer are they different languages or dialects of the same language. I think it's better to label them as different languages because the theory that they are the same language was used as one of the lame excuses for the wars in 1990s. Other languages I speak and want to learn are listed on my profile. When I go to another country I buy the souvenirs which caught my eye at the moment.

Thanksss for answering the questions of the second part @Korisnik!!! 🙂 Sorryy for the confusing question i also asked in 6. So i mean if you are a Catholic: do you for example think Easter or maybe Christmas or another day is the most important for you as Catholic or that you just enjoy the most? And i have maybe a stupid question about your answer 9 but if you say Independent State of Croatia isnt that now already the case bc Croatia is an independent country and not of Yugoslavia anymore. 🙄🙄🙄 Or do they mean smt different maybe?

I will be on holiday tomorrow for TWO weeks!!!! But when i come back i make the next part of the interview!! And if anybody has a question or maybe wants to post a nice comment for @Korisnik u can always do that below!! 🙏🥰🙏

6. Easter is the most important day in the year for all Christians.

9. Official name today is Republic of Croatia and yes, it's independent completely. Independent State of Croatia existed between 1941 and 1945. Despite it's name, it wasn't independent, it wasn't sovereign state and it wasn't Croatia. It was a puppet state of Nazi Gernany and Fascistic Italy.

@Pennarossa2024 grazie amico, anche tu sei una buona persona e sempre interessante per conversazione

Part III

11: Do you like reading books? And which book can you recommend the most that everybody should read or that you would take with you if you go to a deserted island for a long time? And if you must write a book: what would it be about?

I used to like it much more before but in high school I've started to read less and less in my free time because we had to read a lot in high school and a lot of books were extensive or very complicated so I lost my enthusiasm. If I go to a desert island, I would carry a book about it: Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. l would also bring Stefan Zweig's Magellan. These 2 would be must have and I would bring as much as possible since I read quite fast and I can read for a long time if I find the book interesting. If I must write something, it would probably be some politically incorrect and dark humoured satire but I will try my best not to insult anybody personally, I would just offer my perspective on illogical and immoral phenomenas.

12: If you go on vacation do you normally prefer very old or modern cities or nature or beaches? And do you like visiting museums or doing other things? And what kind of souvenir do you like to bring home?

I prefer to travel for sightseeing, so my reasons are definetly cultural, historical and natural wonders. I always want to visit everything which destination offers. I buy souvenirs which catch my eye.

13: Which lesson did somebody from your family or friends teach you that you remember for your whole life? And if you could give yourself a tip when you were 10 or 20 years younger than now what kind of tip would you give yourself?

There is still too much to learn and in my opinion that process should never stop. The lesson I remember the most is the lesson from my teacher in high school who said to us that we should always take care of our words because every word which we say to someone can have a large impact on that person even after a few decades. If person accidentally and suddenly recalls our words which we considered as irrelevant, they might be very relevant for them in a certain situation and context or even generally. My main tip for myself would be to focus more on my personal development and less on secondary things.

14: Do you have fear for really big heights or certain animals or foods or other things? And if you are really stressed, do you have a nice tip to get calmer. For example when you give a presentation for a very big group of people or if you have to do something important.

I think I have it but not too much. I don't like to see a snake not even on tv but I'm not afraid to walk on well-known offroad areas close to my house because I know that snakes are more scared of us and I know how to behave and where and when to go. I had several close encounters with small snakes when they would pass less than a step in front of me but I have never been bitten. It also helps that I have enough time to reach the hospital to get the serum. When I feel stressed I try to remember that every problem can be solved and that I can always ask God to help me. In my opinion the best strategy to deal with problems is to offer Holy Mass for them and in addition to that to take action by yourself. It's also good to take a walk and to go to sleep - that's also an advice from the same teacher - anger usually disappears in the morning. I think it's better to prevent stressful situation to happen rather than dealing with it. The best is to prepare yourself as much as possible for upcoming stressful situation or event. I've had a huge problem with holding a presentation before and I still feel nervous when I had to do that but I taught myself that I have to be well prepared and that I shouldn't care too much about it. I try to achieve the optimal stress-relax balance level.

15: Did you change much in the last 10-15 years how you look at things and how you are as person or is everything mostly the same? And do you think it is nicer as youth now or when you were young? Did you save a lot of things from when you were small like toys, books or photos?

I've changed and I hope that those were improvements only but I know that those changes weren't all improvements hahahah. When I was younger we spent more time outside and there were more children. I don't want to dwell on comparisation because most people tend to idolise their childhood unaware that it's due to the care-free attitude which you have as a child. I've also read that even in Ancient Greek people were complaining about new generations so it's a bit pointless to compare the stages in life from that perspective. Personally that only brings me more or less sadness since I was happier when I was younger. So instead of comparing I've decided to try to build my life as better as possible and improve it on everyday basis to reach even bigger happiness and peace which I had as a child. Me and my family saved a lot of things and I forbid everybody to remove any of my old things before asking me 😁.

I really want to thank @Korisnik for taking really time to make nice answers and explaining everything!!! Sorryy that i was super late to make the 3rd part of the interview, but i really like reading the answers!!! I want to comment a bit more abt some of the answers above but will do that tomorrow bc it is already super late!!! 😛 😛 And if anybody else has questions or comments in the meantime, you can of course just post below!!! Thank you very much!! 🙏🙏

As i promised it yesterday i wanted to ask one thing @Korisnik abt the new part of the interview: so about 11 im not sure what u mean about the dark humour and the book about illogical and immoral phenomena. Can u maybe give an example of the phenomena and u mean that u give ur opinion but with humor so it is not super heavy but nicer to read??

Also i like what ur teacher said and it reminded me of my mentor. Im not sure if u also have a mentor at school in Croatia but that is a teacher and he or she has a mentor group with 5-6 students. And in the group u can discuss also with others ORRR alone with ur mentor things abt school like ur grades but also if there are other things which do not go well or if u are super worried abt something. And i have a very nice mentor and she is the same like last year, but she is always super busy and STILL she makes time always when u have a question or like to talk. So i told her that and she said that NOBODY is ever too busy, but it just depends on what u choose that u are busy with. Im not sure if that is correctly translated but that is what she meant. So she says she chooses to be busy first with helping us if we need that and after that she chooses to be busy again with the other things. 🙂

I'm glad that you have susch mentorship system, our schools usually have one pedagogue for all students and it's probably on lower level than in Netherlands. Examples of dark humour you can find at my profile. The best examples when I used it alongside common sense, logic and science while exposing illogical and immoral phenomenas you can find in my replies to others on forums about child sacrifice a.k.a. abortion, nudity and communism.

Part IV

16: Which invention of something that does not yet exist do you think should be made that makes your life much better?

To be honest I can't think of anything right now, but I'm all-in for positive inovations.

17: What do you think of marriage and do many people in Croatia get married? If you do get married, do you want to marry in a church or in a different place?

I hold Catholic perspective on marriage. Many people in Croatia get married but in my opinion some of them don't have the honest reasons and doesn't understand concept of marriage (regardless of their marriage being religious or secular). Fidelity should be universal, regardless of the fact are the people married in secular or any religious ceremony. If someone wants to get married, he or she shouldn't get married just because 'it's time to do it', 'it's their last chance', for the family's and/or society's pressure, etc... I also hate when people call wife or husband partner. Partner is a word from economy and dance. Marriage (no matter religious or secular) shouldn't be a business contract.

18: If you can look in the future: what do you think your country and Europe will be like in 30 years? And do you think people will be happier and healthier or less?

In the 30 years my country will probably become more diversed and the migrants will start to replace the native Croats. Before that the average age will raise. My wish for the whole Europe and the world is that wokeism, racism, communism (and similar -isms) and greed disappear completely. Personal health and happines 99% depend on the person.

19: What kind of clothing style do you like? And do you like to shop for clothes in a normal store or online? And what other kind of shopping do you like to do if u have time? Do you prefer really big famous stores with discounts or small shops?

I feel the most comfortable in simple, everyday clothes.

20: How is family important to most people in Croatia? For example is it normal that your parents if they are really old live in your house and you take care of them? And are you super close or more far away from where you live and also for example how often people meet and celebrate things like birthdays.

Everybody say it's important, but when I see how people behave and think, then I don't believe to some of them. You've probably heard for jokes about Italians and their mamma mia, but I think on Balkan people tend to leave parents even later than Italians. In my case my whole extended family lives quite close next to each other. People meet for birthdays like everywhere else; you have people who don't like to celebrate it at all, and you have people who likes to celebrate in various ways.

Thank you very much for this interview Korisnik!!! 🙏🙏⭐️ Can i update interview maybe in the future with new questions and can other people ask questions or post comments too? By the way i really ❤️ what u said in nr. 17 but i will not write more about that yet because i want that first others can post comments or questions and i will do that later. And also the same for a question about what you wrote in 18 in the last sentence but i will wait a moment first!!! 😛 😛

Bravo nice intervieuw

Thank u very much @Fleurke !!! 😊😊

And @Korisnik i wanted to say i agree with what u said in nr. 17 but i think is same with if u get a relationship because sometimes people can say things if u dont want that yet and ppl expect it and then u can feel also stressed about it because others have relationships and everybody thinks that is normal. But i think u should decide yourself and ONLY when you really want it even if it is later than others and i think that is the same what you meant about marriage that you should only marry for the right reasons because is maybe the biggest step you can take and it is important that you only do that if is really somebody you ❤️ and want to marry.

About 18 i think it also depends on the person if you are happy or not but also a lot of things are important like your health and other things.
