Thank you very much @Torakka that I can interview you!! 😊😊 For this first part of the interview i have the following 5 questions. I hope that you like the questions and ONLY answer the questions that you want to of course!! 😛

Part I

1: Is your name Torakka or is it a nickname? Does it have a special meaning? And if it is not Torakka what is your first name?

Torakka means cockroach in Finnish. So thank god my parents didn't name me that. And no its also not a nickname. And I call myself that here cause it symbolises Perseverance and survival witch I think is cool. My real name is Kerttu.

2: How long are you now on PPG? And what are the things that you like and do you have tips maybe for @Etienne to make PPG better?

7 months. I dont think I have any. Just maybe add a last online time.

3: What is your hometown like? Is it very nice for visitors? And what should we see FIRST if we come to your town (like the most beautiful place or a super nice place to do fun things or anything that you want to mention)?

I mean I like this town but for visitors theres nothing. And we are not nice to tourists. Its a corrupted small town and the best you could do is leave. I quess the church looks nice tho.

4: What is your favourite music? And do you play music yourself as well? Would you like to learn maybe a new instrument in the future?

Finnish indie rock. I play the guitar. No thank you i dont have time.

5: What are 3 things on your bucket list that you would like to do somewhere in the future?

Visit Raatteentie.

Get into this one school.

Get a Job.

Thank you very much Kerttu (btw i think your name is really nice 😊😊) that i could ask the questions of the first part!!! Abt your answer in 4 can i maybe ask do you play in a music band like in school or maybe with friends? And i was really curious ant what Raatteentie is so i googled it and saw these pictures:

I didnt read everything yet but i think it is from a war with Germany or Russia? But one picture is also from like a huge forest so i am not sure if you like to see where the war was or the nature part. The second photo i saw online is really beautiful i think!!!

Btw if anybody maybe has questions for Kerttu or wants to post a comment you can of course do that below!!! ⭐🥰⭐ Thank you very much!! ⬇️⬇️ And more interviews of PPG members are on this page: overview of interviews. If you have any tips for interviews you can write there!!! 🙂 Thank you very much!!! 🙏🙏

Modificato da Yue_ .

As a history nerd I feel like its my duty to explain Raatteentie to you all. Its the battle of raattentie (from winter war) that im now telling to you about. It lasted for 1.1.1940 - 7.1.1940 the battle took place in Suomussalmi where Finnish troops destroyed soviet 44. division compleatly using motti attack tactick. Soviets lost about 14000 men on a single dirt road. And Finns got a lot of spoils of war. Its one of the coolest battles I know check it out.

The pictures with the forests are a memorial for winter war. One stone for each fallen soldier and one bell for each day figthing.

And the soviets abandoned all equipment witch shows they also abandoned theyr trumpets and musical intruments they tougth they would use in Helsinki for theyr winning day parade. Well that parade never happened.

Modificato da Torakka .

Thanksss very much Kerttu!!! 😊😊 I knew abt the war between Finland and Sovet Union but i did not know this specific name. I think it is now a very important place for ppl in Finland so you can remember the war and that Finland was still save. 🙏🌼🕯️

Sorry but i have one more question abt the answers!! 😛 You said that finding a job is on your bucket list. If you could choose ANYTHING for a job: what would you choose? 👮‍♀️👩‍🎓👩‍🍳👩‍⚕️👩‍🌾

Thank you very much that you take the time to answer everything!! And i will send the next part with questions soon and maybe other ppl also have questions or comments. 😇😇😋

PART II

6: What is your biggest hobby to do when you have time for yourself? Do you like maybe concerts, museums, reading, going to the cinema, shopping or other things?

Reading I quess. There are no concerts, museums, cinemas or shops near me.

7: What kind of persons you like the most to chat with on PPG? And who is your best PPG friend?

Someone who has something in common with me. As for the best friend thing ill say @Nishu.

8: What is your favourite type of food? And can you cook yourself?

Anything with fish. I could eat only fish for the rest of my life and be very happy. I can do something but its not gonna taste good it will just me edible.

9: What kind of partner do you want in the future? And are you super romantical or do you think other things are more important?

Down to earth chill dude who's reliable and fun nothing else needed. Im not super romantic and ill never be. Other things are way more importnant.

10: What do you think should change in Finland if you could make that happen?

Fix the unemployment situation and do something about immigration. Cities feel like a different country nowadays.

Thank you very muchhh Kerttu!!!! ANDDDD you survived already HALF of the interview!!! 🙂 I really like that you take the time to answer all the questions. 🙏🙏🥰🥰

Hellooo everybody!!! Here is the next part of the interview of Kerttu @Torakka and i hope that everybody who reads this forum likes it!!! 🙂

PART 3

11: Do you have brothers or sisters? And who do you look like the most of your family (like how you look or how you are)?

I have two little sisters. Both are little germlings. I apparently look more like my fathers side of the family and personality wise im a mixture of them both.

12: Do you think that sometimes ppl dont understand you? And if yes what do you think ppl should know or care more abt?

Yup. Its quite common. Just the basic stuff im tired of being embarassed by my classmates for them being so stupid. And people should care more about history.

13: What is your biggest fear? And do you think you are more or less anxious than other ppl?

Heights and balloons (I hate those things) I would say im less anxious I can talk to anyone If needed but id also rather not.

14: If you have to live in another country for the rest of your life: what country do you choose?

Is Åland an option? But in all honesty Sweden I know the language and the north has some Finnish people.

15: What kind of study or job you want to do after high school?

I would like to study history even though I will most likely end up jobless cause of that. But its worth a shot.

I learned from Kerttuu that Kiitos paljon means thank you very much!!! So that is for Kerttu for this part of the interview!!! 🙏🥰🥰

PART 4

16: What is your favourite and least favourite season and why?

Favorite season is autumn cause its not too cold or too warm and lots of rainy days and pretty colours. Least favorite is summer cause its too hot to do anything and the bugs suck me dry.

17: What is the nicest compliment that anybody ever said to you?

I think the world needs more people like you. From my Finnish teacher.

18: You wrote in a forum that religion is really important for you. Can you maybe tell more abt that? And is your whole family religious? What is the most important religious day for you?

Yes it is. Im quite religious I pray daily I go to church sometimes but its too dark away and i organize these youth religion camps. My whole family is somewhat religious but not the obsessed type. Most important religious day is probly Easter and i like the celebrations we have then.

19: What kind of movies and series do you really like the most? And if there is a movie abt your life: who should play you in the movie?

Horror. I dont really whatch series tho but horror movies are great. No idea pls dont make a movie about me that would be boring.

20: If you could make one wish and it would immediately come true: what do you wish?

Lots of job opportunities.

I really want to thank Kerttu a LOTTTT for the interview and i hope that maybe in the future after some time i can update with for example some new questions!!! 😛 😛 ANDDD i wanted to also say one thing: your teacher in Finland is RIGHT!!!!!!! 😊😊🥰🥰🥰🥰

I knew abt the war between Finland and Sovet Union but i did not know this specific name. I think it is now a very important place for ppl in Finland so you can remember the war and that Finland was still save.

During 1939-1945 (WW2)

There was the winter war talvisota 30.11.1939-13.3.1940 Finland against soviet union basicly Finnish victory.

Then was the Continuation War jatkosota 25.6.1941-19.9.1944. yet again Finland against soviet union. Not a clear winner.

Then last was the Lapland war lapin sota 15.9.1944-27.4.1945 Finland against nazi germany (caused by the soviets) winner: Finland

Also If I could have any job ever i would be a historian.

Ive read once that Finland has a very high index of safisfaction regarding to society but the same time one of the highest suicide rates in the EU.
What is the reason for that discrepance?

All the sad people kill themselfs is a common explanation I hear.

But its most likely cause yes we do have good healthcare, freedom and good stuff like that. We also dont see the sun very often most of the year it never rises and that causes stuff like seasonal depression. We also have high alcohol consuption many people are alcoholics and heavily drinking is often started as a teenagers and then worsens as people become adults. And the mental health services are not that good from what I hear. Mental health is a subject that nobody here speaks about cause atleast everybody that i have spoken to about it (remember its a small town with grumpy people) either thinks its attention seeking or compleat lies. But definedly not something to talk about people keep all theyr problems to themselfs. So not the best environment for depression and all that.

Yeah, in reddit e.g. the complainments about the cold finnish society is very common. Especially foreigners are often shocked about the ignorance by finnish people but many people seems to misunderstand the finnish culture: When nothing important is to say, nothing important is to say. That might be something western european or western cultures in general have a problem.

On the other hand if introvert people don´t like to talk much or are happy to live in a calm environment where not everybody disturbs every 10 minutes Finland might be a good address.
I think your problem is at the moment: Too many (foreign) people like that and so Finland has an imigration problem.

Finns are often thougt to be very cold and non speaking well i have to say that mostly true and If somebody speaks loudly or at all in a buss for example they are gonna be recieving judging looks. But we just enjoy our own space and quiet you dont always need to talk. I am for example considerd really quiet even in Finnish standars.

Yea I agree with that but only on the countryside I have seen horror stories about Helsinki. And you can go undisturbed for days here. During three months I spoke to around 10 people half of them relatives while still going to places. And most of those conversations ware thanking when somebody opens the door for me.

Of yea thats the biggest problem that i hope goverment does something about. Dont wanna end up on the same situation as Sweden. And we are heading to that direction quickly stuff on the news is not nice to read.

I think Finland changed a lot after Nokia lost its world leading position. In Germany we are losing our automotive industry more and more. Compared to China we are: lost.
So I think we will lose our national identity, too in a while. Though we never had a real identity or typical culture apart from "Bavarian drinking beer" and always on time.
Still I think Finland is a very respectful country which is leading in many parts.

Thats true we dont really have such major companys anymore which is a shame those companys would be needed alot. But theres no point giving up prehaps a major company will soon rise. I sure hope national identies arent lost but If the immigration continues to go that way there will not be a single European national identity left. And every country has sometype of national identity some norms or belifs and stories that need to be preserved. Thank you very much germany is also very respected country and importnat on world politics. And If I get accepted into this one school I will start studying german cause its a importnat business language.

A few months ago there was a documentation about the happiness report, which won Finland again and it was presented by the finnish actress Meri Koivisto (she lives in Berlin). She can speak fluent german and to listen to her was just a dream - the finnish accent is so beautiful! And since Finns are considered to be very self-controlled and ambitious people, you can tell that someone is really trying hard.

Perhaps that is why Finns are so highly respected.

I was sure that Finland would have dropped in the rankings cause of the unemployement. Never actually heard of her but no suprise since most the movies are in German. Thank you for that.

Its likely.

Haluaisin tietää miten @Torakka suhtautuu

  • ihmisiin joilla on kehitysvamma ja autismi
  • koulujen kännykkäkieltoon

• Ei ne siihen mittään voi. Oon itseasias kavereit muutaman sellasen kans.

Mikä on naurettavaa melkeen kaikkien vanhemmat on sillo töissä. Ja jos sitä ei haeta puhelin jää sinne. On olemassa parempiakin keinoja saada lapset pois puhelimilta.

Is bullying a big problem in finnish schools?
