Experiences with discrimination

Hey!

I don't really know why I came up with this but I'm just interested in it: I was wondering what experience other people have with discrimination. There's not a special direction I want to go in, you can talk about everything. Doesn't matter if it's been because of cultural background, gender, orientation or whatever. What did you experience, how did it affect you and how do you think about it nowadays?

If you're comfortable sharing I'd be very glad to hear about it!

hiii @Colin_Der_Backfisch i think it is a very important topic. i made a forum some time ago with Rose @Idkbro but i have to search it again and maybe you like to read it too. i had discrimination a lot of times but most of the times is that they just call names like if you bike and there is a group hanging they can call after you names or jokes. that happens a lot but really bad stuff not as often. wbu??

I see. Thanks for sharing! Luckily, I don't get to experience a lot of discrimination. And the bit I experience is really not a big deal, so I'm glad about it.

As long as it is not more than calling names or jokes i just pretend that i dont hear it and just keep biking away and mostly thats it but sometimes not but that is not i want to share now. But racism can also be jokes and they think it is not really harmful.

Maybe you also like these forums @Colin_Der_Backfisch and others who read this: https://penpal-gate.net/forum/12-everyday-life-and-customs/10276-racism-hurts (Rose @Idkbro and i made it) and https://penpal-gate.net/forum/1-politics-and-governments/10248-racism (@Pennarossa2024 made it) and https://penpal-gate.net/forum/12-everyday-life-and-customs/11111-the-nobody-excluded-forum (i made that with Stasy @PinkiePie). I hope that ppl will comment in this forum bc i like that you made effort to make this forum.

There are also forums abt for example Ableism i remember that @Borboletagirl made it and i know also other forums too but i have to search them later.

Okay @Colin_Der_Backfisch , buckle up for this!

This is kinda foggy but once in middle school, this guy Oliver would pester me about my queerness after I had briefly mentioned I was (at the time) pansexual i don't remember much of what was said, but he eventually put a metaphorical mini Oliver in the back of my head that made sure to tell me how worthless I was (now i know im not and never was).

It eventually pushed me to the breaking point when I was just walking to class and just started sobbing (like flooding, the ugliest bawling), it was literally like instant, i guess the bottle i was just cramming my emotions into just exploded. I somehow found a friend and she asked what was up and I said the good words; "I'm not okay."

i don't remember what her reaction was after that but I think she just went to class??? like wtf??, what a friend πŸ˜’πŸ™„ but after, i somehow made it to the front office with the cloudiest eyes ever. And I called my mom, i said "can you pick me up, I don't want to be here anymore". She figured out that i was crying and LEFT WORK TO GET Me and then CALLED ME OUT SICK FOR LIEK TWO WEEKS (round of applause for my hero, such a girlboss πŸ’…)

As an LGBT person, of course, I couldn't tell anyone, not even my parents, oh, you know, I like a girl, but it's not mutual, I'm not sure what to do. But I'm also bisexual, you should know how much lesbians hate us, it's terrible. This is a phase, you go to a man, cheat with a man, it's terrible, it's not fair.

Okay @Colin_Der_Backfisch , buckle up for this!

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, but I'm glad you know better now. And your mum really is a girl boss HAHAHAH. Never let anyone tell you you wouldn't be worth it.

@PinkiePie

I see. Thanks for sharing as well. I think the hardest part is not being able to talk to people you like about it, right? What do you do about it?

Of course! Im glad to have my mom. I literally wouldnt be alive without her lol

Now i do nothing haha, thanks for reply

I see. Quite fair, I guess I wouldn't know what to either.

One thing i dont understand is that some ppl who discriminate are persons who are discriminated themselves. It is for example ppl who say things to me i know that some are also discriminated bc they have a different race. And i think that is also what Stasyyy meant. But i dont understand that bc you expect that you help each other bc of different background but that is often NOTTT the case.

And @DuncanDonuts i think you are super strong to say it and it is NOT true if they make you think you are worthless bc you are not that at all. And it is very good that you know better and that you are worth more than they can EVER think!!!

OMG THANKS @Yue_ !! I agree! Some people know exactly how it feels to be discriminated against, yet they chose to do the same thing!
