In Italy the most common name is Giuseppe, while the most common surname is Rossi

i thought in your country it is giovanni and mario bc that is what people sometimes say here if they go to italy on vacation. but when i was in rome i dont know exactly anymore what names we hear the most often.

in our country it depends bc there are super old names which were used a lot and i think the most normal is jan as first name and jansen but i have to ask with @-Kiki- if that is correct but now i think other names are more normal for first names like maan and sterre and mees and hannah and names like that. 🙂

do you like your name @lucasar92? and if you MUST change your name and you can choose anything what would you choose? and what would you choose @-Kiki- if you MUST change your name? 😛

In Italy Giuseppe is used for males, while Maria is for women. Nowadays people tends to use more "modern" names like Leonardo (m) and Sofia (f), especially in northern Italy.

The last name Rossi was born to identify people with red hair, which was an uncommon trait here!

In our country there are super Dutch surnames @lucasar92 that end with SEN like for example Jansen and Roelofsen and it means son of. So the person who made the surname very long ago was maybe the son of Jan in case of Jansen and there are other examples also of that.

And @MorgMi we also have persons who are called Sofia or Sofie. Maria also sometimes but for older persons. But Marie is more modern. And i know somebody on PPG with the name Marie!!! 😛

Emma and Anna are quite popular for girls and Daan and Thomas for boys. You're right about the Jansen surname and "de Boer" is quite common as well.

In Mallorca (Spain) some typical female names are: Catalina, Margarita (my own name is Victoria Margarita), María, Paula, Sofía (my own niece)... And some male names are: Jaime, Juan, Antonio, Pedro, Miguel... Surnames like: Pons, Moll, Fuster, Pomar... There are so many!

Here: José, Manuel, Manolo, Miguel/Miquel......

Here: Juhani, Johannes, Olavi, Antero, Matti, Kaarina, Anneli, Marjatta, Liisa, Annikki
