You lived,also in nature somethimes

sometimes???? is still do, i still live in a very beautyfull nature of Galician mountains. We actually dont think we`ll be staying here much longer: far to much things going wrong out here, but we`ll have to stay atleast for a few more months: we dont really know where to go yet, we dont have so much money left, and it surely would take some time before we finally sold the farm; it allready took a long time before we finally sold our van, and now we are trying to sell 2 tractors, and 2 vehicles. Atleast we have a buyer for one of the tractors, but we have to keep it a few more months, after that the buyer will come and get it; he payd us some money to save the tractor for him. But talking about this: even if we`ll move away, we`ll be staying surounded by nature ๐Ÿ™‚

it might also taking 1 ore more years before we can move away. And yes: my mother is planning to go back to portugal in january ore february, but probably were not gonna live there, cuz she and my father`d like to stay in portugal, but we (there kids; i have 3 brothers(and ofcourse me)) dont want to live in portugal.

Why ? What you dont like in portugal?

Why ? What you dont like in portugal?

its far to flat, the trees are only eucaliptes and pine trees. The nature isnt just as beautyfull as in Romania ore Spain.

and here in the Galician mountains we kds can drive the cars, but in portugal we cant because of far to much police.

Galicia ๐Ÿ‘

thx @Pennarossa2024 ๐Ÿ™‚

@Yue_ I have a tent which I use, but more as a safety net if I'm unable to find somewhere suitable to take shelter when I'm roaming. But I will make use of structures that are already present like derelict houses or sheds and make some screens out of branches and foliage. I have done that more this year, because I guess I'm getting lazy as I approach middle-age. ๐Ÿ˜› I stayed in a pig sty once when I was a teenager. Lol.

I would love to have my own yurt now and wander a bit less, but I'd have to get permission for that. I'm not sure it would survive the wind here either.

As for the poachers, I don't think they would deliberately harm me. When they start, if I am not in a structure or near a ditch or something I can get beneath, I just get flat and cover my head until they've got fed up and left.

Thank you very much @LittleWren!!! I think that you are maybe the most brave person i know!! I thought that maybe you have a wooden house but you have to look every night where you sleep! Are you often also afraid at night and can you maybe also reach people for help?

I think that a yurt is a good idea and if you can get permission that is much better!! I looked on google and i like these photos:

I wouldn't say I was often scared at night, but sometimes definitely. I really don't like thunder and lightning, especially if it's really close by. Don't really have any issues with animals either.

When I'm doing my circuit, I try to make sure that I am seen by someone, even if it's just to wave. So they know I'm around. But I do have means of contacting someone if I was to have an accident or something like that. Fortunately, I've not had to put it to the test.

Those are some fancy looking yurts.

6: Do you sometimes also meet other people in the forest who have the same lifestyle as you? And you said to me that there are also small communities. Would you like to live in a community so it is less dangerous?

I sometimes encounter other people on the edges of the forest. Mushroom pickers and people like that, but I have never met another person deeper in or anyone that shared a similar lifestyle to me. Strangely enough, I haven't even met a hiker!

I would like to live in a community that shared my values. It would be nice to put down some roots and find a life partner, teach a new generation.

7: What kind of animals did you meet in the forest? Do they recognize you if you met them several times and do you try to communicate with the animals?

I have seen quite a lot of animals in the forest. Deer, rabbits, hare, various songbirds, birds of prey, foxes, badgers, rats and mice. Sometimes see escaped sheep too. Mink, stoats and one squirrel. Bats. There's also insects, small reptiles and arachnids too. I try not to encourage any repeat contact with the animals, if at all. Sometimes it is necessary if they are caught in wire or snares or refuse. It's safer for both me and them if we keep a distance from each other. Most communication is essentially "hello" and "goodbye". ๐Ÿ˜›

8: Do you have parents and maybe brothers or sisters who live your lifestyle too? Would you start maybe a community with them? And who teached you to live and survive in the forest?

I have parents and siblings, but they don't share my lifestyle. My mother would have liked to have lived it, so I'm living it for her as much as me. She was the person who gave me my values. She would have considered herself a hippie once and she was also very interested in Native American culture. Unfortunately, my father was not a good man with completely opposite values. I spent most of my childhood outside on my own to escape him. I acquired most of the practical skills through trial and error and eventually I just decided I needed to go. All birds must fly free. Especially Little Wrens. ๐Ÿ˜‰

9: What kind of music do you like? And can you play an instrument (and if not would you like to learn that in the future)?

I could probably listen to at least something from any genre of music. But I really enjoy original soundtracks and classical. I love composers like Thomas Bergersen. His music reaches into my soul and ignites my imagination. His music gives me goosebumps. The winter months can be hard for me, since I can't spend as much time in nature as I'd like, so his music keeps me sane. Unfortunately, I cannot play an instrument but I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to learn a new skill.

10: If you can speak with yourself when you were 13 years, what would you say or ask to yourself?

I think if I could speak to my thirteen year old self, I would just tell her that I was proud of her. I would be tempted to try to warn her of things that would happen in the future or want to give her a skill that took longer to develop...but then I suppose maybe doing that would move her from the path she was destined to walk.

Thank you a LOTTTT @LittleWren for these special answers!! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค— I dont know anybody with your lifestyle and i think it is super special how you do that!! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜€

But I have two questions I really wanted to ask you about your answers!! These are the questions:

1๏ธโƒฃ If you can give tips for any member here of PPG to live a week like you in nature. What are the most important tips that you can give?

2๏ธโƒฃ If you cant be in nature for the whole winter, where do you stay outside the forest in that time?

Thank you very much if you want to answer the questions!! And if anybody else has questions or comments about the interview you can of course post them below!! โฌ‡๏ธโฌ‡๏ธ

In answer to the first question, my honest reaction is to say "don't even entertain the idea." ๐Ÿ˜ฎ It would be really irresponsible of me to give the impression that a person can just walk into this lifestyle that I have chosen to live equipped with nothing more than a few tips. My introduction into this was very gradual and only now after fifteen years do I feel pretty comfortable in my ability to survive. But I know that it will only take one mistake, a lapse in attention and I could be dead. It may seem like living the dream, or like living in a fairytale. But it's very harsh, and very unforgiving. It is life and death.

If a person really has the urge to experience nature, if only for a week...then I'd recommend taking up camping. With a group. If you've never been camping before and you have a garden, you could try that for a few nights. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

In answer to your second question, I will stay with either of my siblings if the weather is especially bad. I may not stay the entire winter either. I have been overnighting with them since the end of November due to the back to back storms.

Waaaauw beautifull

Thank you very much for your reply @LittleWren!! I have never done camping yet so i would like to do that really much BUTTT my mom and dad prefer hotels if we go on vacation because they say it is more convenient. Some from my class go camping sometimes so maybe i can go with them one time if my parents say ok. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I think it is VERY different than in the forest where you live and not on a camping with a lot of other people.

And can I ask @LittleWren are your new photos made from the forest and maybe your dog the last one? ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

Yes, the photos were taken on my travels. The last picture was of my dog, yes. She died this time last year. She was nineteen years old though. Had a lot of personality. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
