Germans or Dutch (Generally, expatriate Turks live there) What do you think about the Turks who came to your country? Frankly, they are not a lovely group in Türkiye (because they underestimate the Turks living in Türkiye). Please do not hesitate to tell your honest thoughts because it was always a subject I was very curious about.

Hi, I am from Austria. I don´t think Turks are getting treated bad here, I had a lot of friends who where from Turkey. Only our elder people, like my Grandma and stuff are complaining sometimes about the foreigners.

They hate it when the People who come here don´t speak German properly or don´t integrate in our Culture. Some People hate foreigners at all. It really depends on the people.

But sometimes I see people from Turkey who speak perfect Austrian Language with "Vienna Accent" and that is actually very cool, since you can communicate better.

Some restaurants here are belonging to Turks which are very friendly and I really never had a Problem with them.

The overall situation with foreigners is still bad sometimes. Especially countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Algeria and stuff, we actaully have a lot of problems with them right now. Not all of them, but some are very rude and loud in public and disturb other People. Even the Turkish wo lived here for some years are disturbed by them!

But overall Turkish People are quite popular, even my dad had 2 or 3 nice turkish guys sitting in his class and I slowly feel It became some kind of nice tradition here.

Turks are now generally well regarded in Germany. The 'first wave' of immigrants came in the 1960s, and many stayed and integrated well. It was a long and difficult journey, but today there are Turks here who speak German better than some Germans. 😉 And we will never forget that we invented Döner/Kebab together. Please make it extra spicy! 🙂

Interestingly, there have been rivalries among immigrant groups since the 1990s. For example, between Russian Germans and Turks, and more recently between Muslims who arrived after 2015 and those who immigrated earlier.

This problem exists in Turkey as well, unfortunately. There's a large wave of immigration, especially from the Middle East. These people, as you said, aren't adapting to the culture; on the contrary, they're trying to keep their culture alive in another country. This is terrifying. I sincerely understand people's discomfort with culture, because the same problem exists in Turkey.

I know, I have talked with some Turkish People about it. I´m very sorry. But we will somehow manage it. There must be a way to live together on this Planet!

I am okay with the previous people who came here, before the pandemic, they are friendly. But I dislike the amount of people from muslim country's being brought into Europe. They get everything and we get nothing. Maybe this is a bit too hard said, but it literally is like this. I am not saying I am against those people, no, but I am saying that these amounts are far too much.

I am saying this, because even though I havent really got anything with the Netherlands ad I am born in France, my nationality and mother language are Dutch. So I think it counts.

You're right in your own way. I don't think the problem with religions. The problem is that people expose their own cultures to the point of being disturbing. Women covering their hair is a religious matter, but wearing a veil is a cultural norm. It's specific to Arabs. Either they adapt to the culture or they should leave the country. I don't think this has anything to do with racism.

Turks have a good food, but Greek food is better 🙂

Tja. Ik word blijer van andere talen.

I think no foreigner has any place in Germany—not out of xenophobia, but for the following reason: Saint Francis de Sales said something very wise: "Bloom where you were sown!" With the mentality of your grandparents and parents, with the customs and energy of your homeland, with everything you absorb in your birthplace, you have a connection there, an anchor, and a duty. The further you move away from there to settle down, the more uprooted and unhappy you become. It only brings problems when a foreigner settles anywhere but at home. You see it everywhere there are foreigners.
