  Hi!
  My name is Eerika, and I’m a 24-year-old girl from Finland. I grew up in a small countryside village, where I spent the first 21 years of my life. Since March 2023, I’ve been living in the town of Kaarina.

  I’m an introvert by nature, which means I prefer deep and meaningful conversations over small talk. You might have heard that we Finns aren’t exactly famous for our small talk skills!
  Don’t get me wrong — I do have a good sense of humor, and I can also enjoy lighthearted conversations.
  At first, I might seem a bit reserved, but I’m still approachable and friendly. I’m not great at starting conversations, but I always do my best to reply when someone messages me.

  I’ve loved animals ever since I was a child, and after finishing basic school, I studied to become an animal caretaker. I graduated in 2020, and I’m currently unemployed. I’ve been thinking about changing my career path, but I’m still figuring out what direction to take next.

  I’ve never been a very sporty person — I prefer calm and creative activities instead. In my free time, I enjoy playing computer games, listening to music, reading, writing, solving crosswords, doing puzzles, birdwatching, playing badminton, going for walks outdoors, and spending time with my family’s dog, who I also love to train.

  I absolutely love traditional letter writing. There’s something so personal and meaningful about it compared to digital messages — writing and decorating the letter, sending it out, and then waiting for a reply. That’s why I hope to find a pen pal here to share that feeling with and exchange letters the old-fashioned way. But if you’d rather chat only through this site, that’s perfectly fine too. I just don’t visit here very often, so I apologize if it takes me a while to respond.

  I visited a foreign country for the first time when I was six years old, together with my family. We traveled to the island of Crete for a one-week holiday. We visited Crete again when I was ten, and once more spent a week there with my family. What I remember most are the warm weather, the turquoise sea, the delicious food, and the happy people.

  I’ve also been to Stockholm, Sweden a couple of times. The first time was when I was 14, on a short school trip with my Swedish language group. The second time was at the age of 23, on a “Day in Stockholm” cruise. During the few hours I had on land, I managed to visit the Vasa Museum and the Mall of Scandinavia.

  For many Finns, Tallinn in Estonia is a familiar travel destination that they’ve visited several times. I, however, went there for the first time only in 2023, on a day trip with my mother and sister. Tallinn seemed like a beautiful city, even though I didn’t have much time to see it properly. Hopefully, I’ll get to visit it again someday and explore more of it.

  My most recent trip was to the Canary Islands — Tenerife, Costa Adeje — in February 2025. I spent a week there with my family. The weather was warm, and the food was great. Unfortunately, we had a bit of bad luck because some of my family members got sick, so we didn’t get to see as many places as we had planned. Even so, it was a beautiful place!
