    ! I’m Sissi — though I write under the pen name Violaine.
    Born on 10 January 2008, I’m passionately drawn to all things historical, vintage, whimsical, and romantic.
    I’m in love with fashion history, especially 18th–19th century France — from Rococo gowns to Empire and Neoclassical elegance. Aesthetically, I drift toward floral academia, coquette, cottagecore, french girly, light academia for aesthetics, and romantic ideals. I write poetry and prose with my fountain pen, treasure letters and expressive art, and lose myself in fantasy worlds such as The Lord of the Rings, Versailles court intrigue
    For fun I like historical otome and dress-up games! : P
    I’m deeply curious about Slavic and Eastern European cultures — their languages, folklore, music, and traditional dress. I collect flowers, adore Greek and Slavic mythology, and feel close to Apollo and the Muses. I also enjoy Japanese literature (I speak Japanese) Languages and linguistics fascinate me; I’m a dreamer, a cat lover, and someone who hopes to make friends around the world and someday travel across Europe and Asia in a little camper.

    I also live in the world of movement and reenactment: I fence, I attend historical balls, I’m part of a waltz society, and I take part in 18th-century reenactment (civilian life, food, and dress).
    I adore French ’60s vintage too — France Gall, the Beatles, Viktor Tsoi, and Florence + the Machine are constant companions.

    I love Kamikaze Girls, and I shamelessly kin Momoko Ryūgasaki, Marie Antoinette, and Sissi — queens of their own delicate worlds. “Kinning” simply means feeling a character reflect you, or the version of you that lives in your heart.
    My favourite authors are Baudelaire, Sappho, Callimachus, Ovid, Woolf, and Mishima
    I adore artistic and nostalgic cinema: classic Hollywood, Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, Romy Schneider’s Sissi, the 1927 Napoléon, Studio Ghibli, Emma, Visconti, and Peppermint Soda.
    My favourite anime is The Rose of Versailles, and I adore old shōjo manga. I also love theatre, opera, acting, musicals, and reading fanfiction.
