• Cities and countries I have visited

  J'ai visite le Quebec, je viens de retourner de voyager sur la Rhone. Autrement aux E-U j'ai vu : Nashville, NYC, Nouvelle Orleans. Malheureusement pendant le voyage sur le Rhone le temps etait tres froid, avec 3 jours de neige. Aussi traverser l'Atlantique par air pendant 11 heures n'etait pas un grand plaisir.

  A Nouvelle Orleans nous traversions des marais plein de alligators (ils etait tres petit). Au milieu du voyage notre guide nous presentait un alligator enfant. Nous le passions de personne a personne. Le peau etait tres sec. Le petit etait content d'etre touche par les touristes. Nous apprenions que l'enfant que nous maniaient preferait les poisson rouge, et les cafards.

• My proudest accomplishments

  Apprendre le Francais. Mon premier cours etait en 1968. Quoique je voudrais en apprendre plus, aux E-U in y a peu de livres et peu de francophones avec lesquels on peut pratiquer. Cependant mon interet continuait.

  Aux annees 70 je lisais Le Monde et les livres en Francis dans la bibliotheque de l'Universite de Georgie, ou je gagnais mon maitrise en Philosophie. 40 ans plus tard venait l'Internet. Maintenant je peux (essayer) ecouter ce qu'ecoutent les Francais, ou lire ce qu'ils lisent au present.

• Favourite books/authors/films

  I have read plenty of books. Favorite authors are Jules Verne, Guillaume Apollinaire, Paul Verlaine, mystery novels, and science

• My interests in other cultures

  I have always been interested in foreign cultures. I took a world Religion course in college and found it very interesting.

• I'm an expert at...

  When I was young I was good in English class. I always got good grades. When I got a library job in 1990 I was introduced to computers and the internet. At that time the library was going online. The boss said we have no computer manager, you seem to to have a talent for manipulating them, so here is the manual. As I learned more and more about them, the more I enjoyed them.

  I recently retired so now I can come up with interesting projects which I could not do at the workplace.

• Living abroad for one year

  Well this not a tough one. I would certainly like to live in a French speaking country, French language has always been one of my main interests. Possibly I would at the end of the year be able to understand the spoken French as well as written.

• Making the world a better place

  Il n'est pas toujours evident ce qui est mal et ce qui est bon. Exemple excellent: Je crois que nous dtruisons l'atmosphere avec le CO2. Mais c'est difficile a comprendre parce que quand je demarre ma voiture je ne sens pas de change de temperature. Je pense que dans cet cas on ne peut rien faire sauf plus d'education.

• Personal skills

  I have sung in church choir since 1986. I love to sing One of my hobbies is to memorize songs from my USB as I drive around town. At one time I had much of the Messiah memorized. Although I do not read music, I am pretty good at looking at the page and sensing the pitch of the upcoming note.

  I love to play with my computer, and because of long experience I would say I do it better than most.
