  • I always enjoy talking about...

Whatever you wish to talk about.

  • Something to tell the world!

Hello, I'm Dianne. I love football and travel more than the instruments I play . I am happy to stumble upon a pen pal site hoping to correspond, share laughs, exchange cultures and even receipes with . We don't need to always share similar interests or opinions, here we can be ourselves. I am from the Caribbean, spent most of my adult years working and traveling. I am fascinated by history and what we learn from them. I guess a lot of my travel is not solely on the enjoyment or relaxation but mainly to escape into the stories of other timelines shared by the wonderful people whom I met over the years.

  • I'm an expert at...

    Learning to survive and adapting.

  • I wish people knew more about...

I wish people can understand communicating is not a synopsis of yourself or an itemised list of 'to do's'. It's sitting down, giving your time and undivided attention to the person on the other end and talking, listening, sharing similarities and differences, exchanging opinions/ideas and expressing your thoughts/ emotions (respectfully) without limits or fear. When an invitation is sent and accepted, the conversation shouldn't linger on rehearsed lines, that would kill the connection. An invitation should circle around the anticipations of 'when next we meet or write or call'. In my opinion, it's the receipe of genuine friendship.

  • Cities and countries I have visited

I have traveled to more than 30 countries, island and states, the most memorable moments were in Rome, France ( south of France: Provence, la Côte d'Azur) and the Parisian city, England, Ireland, Equador, St. Vincent, Grenada, Antigua, Barbados, Croatia, USA (10 states), Switzerland, Greece. Puerto Rico... where next... Egypt, Vienna, Prague and Argentina.

  • Living abroad for one year

Vienna would be country I would choose to reside for a year or more. Have been so close getting in and just as it seemed to happen, circumstances changed.
The arts, museums, concerts, mountains, the people, and Vienna's history I would love to experience. Hopefully someday

  • A personal challenge

    1. Overcoming procrastination
    2. Understanding the word NO is not only a rejection but also a Blessing.

  • My interests in other cultures

The languages/dialect spoken. The history, the moments, the passion and struggles that bring people together.

  • My proudest accomplishments

    Being happy; being me

  • Life regrets

Life has no regrets. The mistakes I made were lessons learnt never to be repeated. To consciously repeat a mistake would be a deliberate choice; truly a regrettable action.

  • Favourite books/authors/films

Literary works by...Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, V.S. Naipaul, John Steinbeck Dickens, George Eliot, Agatha Christie and of course chosen plays by Shakespeare.
Films/movies...one that tells a good story/autobiography/comical/fact or fictional. One that awakens the inner child in me or makes me laugh, think, remeniss or just wins me over.

  • Childhood pleasures

Eating ice cream, climbing trees, playing cricket and spending weekends with my grandmother (she told some crazy, scary folk-lore tales that kept me in check)

  • My opinion on human nature

All things were created good. The human race, races against ourselves and races against time, with closed eyes missing out on the little differences and the inbetweens that magnifies the greatness in us. Generally we are a good people like an infinite vine connecting through layers of time and bridging differences. It is our choice that defines who we are, our human nature: whether we refuse or accept/understand, whether we are patient and respectful, whether we can forgive, let go, trust and move on, whether we can do it all.
